Death of Artex (Neverending Story)

Eldest DS has developed something of fascination with death, thank you Coronavirus)!, he is 5 with a diagnosis of autism (very high functioning). He can see and understand nuances, nothing has to be black or white, but he is extremely sensitive.

We did start to watch the Neverending Story with his little (NT) brother, but then I remembered about that harrowing scene and I shut it down...! Just as they started to wander into the swamp. God, does anyone else remember that bit?

Yes and my ten year old was hysterical! Younger one was fine though .

Never ever let him watch water ship down, I still have nightmares!!!!

It probably won’t make him sad or emotional but it could play on his mind or feed into his obsession so it’s a good idea to steer clear

I used to have nightmares about Time Bandits. Especially the lump of evil.

Oh god I still weep at that now, it’s so sad. Thought I’d be over it as an adult!

Gmork always scared me as a child and still does, we watched it a couple of months ago and I could barely watch the bit where the lightning makes it look like he’s a painting then he moves.

My ds is high functioning with autism and sad scenes make him very sad and emotional. the difference between him and nt dd is that he can’t regulate those emotions and it takes him longer to calm down.
