I was just about to press the ‘buy’ button and then wondered if AIBU?
Looking at some cute fabric masks for children on Etsy. It’s likely we may need to wear them when we come out of lockdown and I’d like to be prepared as well as having a product my DC will actually be more likely to wear. I wear a particle mask currently when out shopping.
But AIBU? Do the kids need them? Are fabric masks even effective? Am I just wasting money?

I think getting one worh a character they like will probably help them accept that they need to be worn. My eldest would wear his, but my youngest is asd and has sensory issues, he hates clothes in general so trying to convince him to wear a mask is going to be fun. Tbh OP I'd get them. Better to have them and not need them.

Fabric masks are to reduce spread of covid by the wearer. They are effective at that. The kids can be asymptomatic carriers, yes - and because they're always hands and mouth over everything, they're likely to pick it up. The masks will help protect other people from them.
