I do have enough space in the back BUT the neighbours two doors down used to Moab when the kids sang in it, presumably they were getting wankered on Prosecco in their back garden

It depends where your front garden is situated doesn't it.
I'd be pissed off where I live. And whatever common means I suppose it would be inconsiderate at best if you have neighbours close by.

thepeopleversuswork · 04/05/2020 06:19

Common? Grin

Using the word "common" is the commonest thing its possible to do. Having a trampoline in the front garden is unbelievably classy compared to saying common.

Hell, smoking tabs in a string vest and swearing at the neighbours at the top of your voice would be classy compared to saying common.

Harakeke · 04/05/2020 06:43

"Common" and an "eyesore" Grin

Put your trampoline wherever you want to put it, OP. Maybe this uptightness is a British thing - I can't believe any other nation would worry about trampoline placement being "common".

mathanxiety · 04/05/2020 06:46

Don't put it in your front garden. It would be what is called
an 'attractive nuisance' out there. It's not a matter of 'common' vs whatever the opposite is. People are going to try to use it if they can see it and get into your garden, and they could get hurt. You might be liable.

mathanxiety · 04/05/2020 06:48

I can't believe any other nation would worry about trampoline placement being "common".

I think that's very true.

Monty27 · 04/05/2020 06:51

Light hearted alert
You could always bring the sofa and telly out to mind the kids Grin

Carrie7469 · 04/05/2020 06:53

Yes, it's common as 💩

Ginandplatonic · 04/05/2020 06:54

Ours is in our front garden. We have a big front garden and small back - it fits best there. I couldn’t begin to care what the neighbours/passing motorists/strangers on the internet think. It works for us.

But I am in Australia. So probably “common” by definition.

Koddii · 04/05/2020 06:58

I think it will be ok because you have a hedge.

Oysterbabe · 04/05/2020 06:59

Put it on the back and tell your kids not to shout and scream.

Peaseblossom22 · 04/05/2020 07:01

Yes but more than that it’s annoying and dangerous . We live in a small village but on the main through road which is also narrow People opposite have trampoline in garden , literally fills the garden which is only a handkerchief . Child plays with ball in trampoline which regularly bounces out, if a car lost control it doesn’t bear thinking about. Not sure why as they do gave a back garden .

vanillandhoney · 04/05/2020 07:03

Just put it in the back garden and tell your kids to keep the noise down or they can't use it.

EricaNernie · 04/05/2020 07:03

no, jsut tell your dc not to scream while on the trampoline

EricaNernie · 04/05/2020 07:03

I mean dont move it

EricaNernie · 04/05/2020 07:04

I drive passed someone with a trampoline in the front, or wherever, side, but so close to the road it scares me and i am always distracted by it

Gtugccbjb · 04/05/2020 07:06

Yes but if you chose to think about how you look over your child’s life / fun then more fool you. Fight against this madness / snobbery.

RatonesAzucar · 04/05/2020 07:12

Would it be really common

Yes OP. You would be putting the Tramp in trampoline Grin Grin

ALovelyBitOfSquirrel · 04/05/2020 07:17

Yes it would.

LipstickTaserrr · 04/05/2020 07:25

My neighbours trampoline is in the far corner of their front garden. It's about a foot away from my front window and between the screaming and shrieking they stare in and probably watch my TV.

Hedgehog44 · 04/05/2020 07:34

I know I'm a horrible snob but I hate people doing stuff in the front garden. Trampolines, deckchairs, people smoking in their dressing gowns... god I have turned into my father Blush

poshme · 04/05/2020 07:42

Gosh.

My trampoline is in my front garden. It's enormous (the trampoline)

It never occurred to me that it's
a) common, b) a distraction for drivers c) an invitation to passers by.
How odd.

And I'm not common I'm Posh.

Put it where you want OP.

poshme · 04/05/2020 07:43

@Hedgehog44 why shouldn't people use their front garden?
Ours is where gets sun in the evening. We sometimes sit out there in the evening with a beer. On chairs.

thepeopleversuswork · 04/05/2020 07:48

poshme :)

A really posh person would park the trampoline in the front garden and smoke weed ostentatiously on the front deckchair while Hugo and Araminta do somersaults on it.

Floatyboat · 04/05/2020 07:48

Probably is a bit. Depends on how big the garden is etc. Don't do it if it dominates the garden.

Blacksideupanddownagain · 04/05/2020 07:53

Where I live terraced or back to back houses with only a small yard out the front are the norm so everyone has their trampoline, swing, bench, table and chairs etc out front. So long as securely fenced in what's the issue?
