Just that really. Was midway through treatment when this started and to be fair the emergency system set up had been great but I've had to have a tooth removed the first week of lockdown, had to get antibiotics prescribed by phone last week because the socket was infected and am now on my last day of them and its still painful. Also have a temporary filling on a broken tooth and temporary crown in from before lockdown and am constantly worrying about them falling out. If I could afford a mouth of implants I'd get them done as soon as i could to avoid this ever again. Feeling miserable.

I’m with you.
Resorted to buying temp filling cement on line but it’s rubbish.
Also all these Zoom calls where I’m looking at myself have made me realise I have the teeth of a hillbilly.
I’m going to get a total revamp of my teeth after lockdown, don’t care how much it costs!

amber763 · 03/05/2020 18:15

I ordered some temp stuff on amazon today just incase but its not arriving till the 12th-15th! Sorry you're going through it too. Dental pain is terrible!

Feel for you so painful. Have same going on. I got a seal thing/paste at chemist. Dentist told me too risky I coming in. Could be weeks..

Toilenstripes · 03/05/2020 18:23

I’m currently on ibuprofen and solpadeine for massive tooth pain. Should have been extracted before lockdown but I couldn’t get an appointment.

Witchend · 03/05/2020 18:28

I nearly declared undying love for my dentist when he mended my broken tooth right at the beginning of lockdown.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 03/05/2020 18:54

You are NOT being unreasonable!! I'm waiting for crown treatment - thank god I got my dentist to stick a temporary filling in A few days before lockdown!! However, I've had another filling fall out and have had numerous problems with my teeth over the past few months (including two teeth out due to infections). It's been my comfort that the dentist is there if I need him...now he isn't!!!! And it seems that dentists are going to be one of the last difficult professions to get up and running again too 😖

AlfieandAnnieRose · 03/05/2020 18:59

@amber763 I ordered some temp filling from amazon, I don’t know if it’s the same one you’ve ordered, but mine arrived much earlier than expected, two days later. So hopefully yours will too!
Can’t wait til dentists open! But then there’s going to be such a backlog 😕

Isadora2007 · 03/05/2020 19:00

Pretty sure your husband wouldn’t treat you anyway though.

letmethinkaboutitfornow · 03/05/2020 19:35

I have a serious crush on my dentist, so I am with you!!! Wink

Amanduh · 03/05/2020 19:37

Me too. Two crumbed/broken teeth this week, 39 weeks pregnant, and was having treatment for another tooth before. I’m getting them all overhauled after this. Think it will be one of the last back too 😫
My husband would definitely treat me!

amber763 · 03/05/2020 19:38

@AlfieandAnnieRose oooh I hope so. It was called toofypegs. Do you remember the name of yours?

You can be treated by your husband... if you do need a temporary kit my friend has put these together www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293562030973

Cailleach · 03/05/2020 20:13

I am in agony with mine. I am starting to get a bit worried as i feel so sick and dizzy and keep going cold. I thought i was going to pass out earlier. Painkillers aren't touching it :( when i lie down the pain gets worse so i can't sleep.

Been two weeks now.

Flashinggreen · 03/05/2020 20:16

Have you had advice from a dentist?

Cailleach · 03/05/2020 20:18

They're all closed though aren't they. So they'll only tell me to do salt water washes and take painkillers.

maggiecate · 03/05/2020 20:25

@Cailleach depending on where you are there are hubs for urgent dental care - mostly dental hospitals I think. Give your dentist a ring, they’ll be able to advise you. They can also prescribe antibiotics Etc over the phone

CherryValanc · 03/05/2020 20:30

You'll have to accept being part of a harem as I doubt there's enough dentists to go around. But that's probably a small thing in the grand scheme of things.

Cailleach · 03/05/2020 20:32

Thank you, I'll try them tomorrow.

Singinginshower · 03/05/2020 21:04

Can I join the queue if there are any unmarried dentists out there looking for a middle aged wife with dodgy teeth?

amber763 · 03/05/2020 21:42

@Flashinggreen I love you for posting that link! Thank you.
@Cailleach your dentist might be triaging on the phone like mine. They emailed my antibiotics prescription to my local pharmacy. Def worth a try.

Defo wouldn't mind being in a dentist harem right now.

Sorry for all of us!

Not so much fun being a dentist and not being able to work though.

Definitely phone your dentist for advice Cailleach, leave a message if there’s no answer and they should get back to you.

AlfieandAnnieRose · 04/05/2020 06:53

@amber763 mine was DenTek filling which I’ve used for a cavity. Just a bit worried I’ll need a root canal after all this time. The temp filling has done the job though.
If you’re in a lot of pain there are emergency dentists open, toothache is the worst 🙁 good luck

Torvean · 18/05/2020 00:48

The thing with the emergency hub is that you need referred. Ive had 3 teeth snap during lock down. ( i have weak enamel, and this happened to my mum also.Although this is the first time I've had a tooth break) I had such severe pain with the third tooth that i was in tears . I took paracetamol, ibuprofen and dihydrocodeine and nothing touched it. I also used the temporary filling stuff plus Orajel. Plus ive been usung Corsadyl.

My dentist said I'd need to have had 2 courses of antibiotics before being referred for emergency help. Its a joke.

vbhafjlb · 18/05/2020 02:34

You have my sympathy OP and anyone currently suffering! Dental pain—and any skull pain in general—is truly the worst.
