Perfect job, my background aligns, have all the skills, experience, education they are looking for.

Applied 4 weeks ago but no response. Job is still live. Aibu to contact the hiring manager or wait a while longer given the covid situation? Husband says wait, I say contact. I don't want the opportunity to pass me by.

Former headhunter here.

Do it. It absolutely won't harm your chances and it might start a worthwhile dialogue.

Definitely won’t lose anything by doing it. There’s a pause on all recruitment where I work so it’s more than likely to do with that

Do it. I did as soon as I sent in my application because I knew it would be popular. He said that put me right at the top of the pack of over 100 applicants. I got the job.

Do it. Personal follow-up gets your CV read more carefully and increases your chance of an interview. Best to do it when you first apply but now would work too.

Don't wait, show some initiative - even if the job's already taken they might want to keep you in mind for the future.
