Long time dream to move to Cornwall from the South East. DH and I fortunate enough to do a job that can be done there. Spent a lot of time there as have family there already.
The current situation (I’m shielding) has made this even more desirable.
Here we pay extortionate rent and in Cornwall we could afford to buy with a nice garden. Something we will never afford here. Have two primary aged DC.
Am I being idealistic? Has anyone done this?

I have not done it, but from what you describe I would.

Housing better and more affordable and can easily move jobs, family there anyway.

What's stoping you?

Our parents and friends are here which is what has stopped us before!

I have friends who have moved there and they love it. They've thrown themselves into the local community and have been accepted because they live there full time, BUT I've seen lots of people go, hate it, find it difficult to be accepted and move away again.
