Lockdown has got Absolutely fed up of cooking and churning out the same old thing.

I have one cookbook (shame Blush) and must admit im not good a varying our menus ...
What cookbook would do this for me?

Mine is Isa Does It by Isa Moskowitz. It's a vegan cookbook and it's very much about easy recipes that don't require 63 obscure ingredients, like some other vegan books.

Originally I bought it as DS has egg, dairy and soya allergies - most vegan books rely heavily on soya so this one is a refreshing change as the majority are soya-free too.

We aren't vegan but often cook her mains either on thei own or as side dishes, and all the cakes and bakes work brilliantly and are very simple to do.

I’m a big fan of the roasting tin series by Rukmini Iyer, she has a veggie one as well. It’s all dishes you just bang in one dish in the oven so nice and easy but always lovely.

Really depends on what kind of food you like! One of our most used is Ottolenghi’s “Plenty” - it’s a vegetarian book but even my carnivorous DH loves everything in there. Anything by Diana Henry is really good - her latest, “From the Oven to the Table” is great for easy, low effort cooking but I also love “A Bird in Hand” which is dedicated to chicken recipes. Her turmeric and lemongrass roast chicken from that one is a household favourite.

Might be difficult to advise as we don’t know who you’re cooking for and what they like to eat.

Is it just you? A family? You and a partner and you take it in turns? Are you omnivores? Any allergies? Food preferences? Veg dodgers?

So we're a family of 6! Me, DH, DD's who are 15, 13 and 12 year old twins

We all eat meat and no vegans- but live vegan food however. no allergies but teens are bloody picky!

My absolute favourite is just a readers digest one - Midweek Meals Made Simple. It’s just easy, no hard to find ingredients and so much In it.

Kitchen by Nigella Lawson has a great variety. I have tonnes of cookbooks, but hers are the ones dog eared from use.

I am vegan so that's reflected in my choices, but I use Bosh, The Dirty Vegan, Jack Monroe's Veganish and Mayim's Vegan Table a lot. My kids love the tomato and Israeli couscous soup from Mayim. I make a big batch of soup every week at the moment for lunches.

I like Nigella for sweet stuff, usually just google for ideas. Nigel Slater Appetite is old but really good for lots of ideas and not complicated. Ottolenghi Simple is great. Everything I’ve made from it has been delicious.

I've just ordered three roasting tin books and Simple by Ottolenghi. Having been so careful with money for weeks i dont know what came over me!

My most used cookbooks are Delia Smith's Complete Cookery Course and Australian Women's Weekly Indian.
Delia is completely reliable and the AWW book is full of easy to get ingredients for delicious food and Simple recipes.

I also use the BBC Good Food website a lot. The reviews are very helpful.

We have loads of Cookery books collected over 30 odd years. My go to ones are various Nigella/Jamie ones and more occasionally Delia. I honestly find all 3 of them fairly foolproof.
DH tends to go Gordon Ramsey, especially for Christmas Dinner.

I am a big fan of Nigel slater for inspiration. I love how he follows actual recipients with things you can do to change each one for different flavours so they don't feel too same-y

I second the green roasting tin! even though you all eat meat it might be good for an easy lunch time?

I seem to be cooking a lot of recipes from bbc food at the moment. I also got bored of that and bought the slimming world magazine!

I have a zillion cookery books, but pretty much only use Delia’s Complete Cookery Course and the bbc good food recipes (I cook the easy recipes with consistently high reviews).

Great ones on the bbc that I’ve cooked recently is the easy paella (I add prawns, chilli and extra garlic) that is made with chicken and chorizo, red Thai salmon fish cakes (again, I add more garlic) and a very simple king prawn, white crab and lemon linguine.

Hairy Bikers, Delia, anything by Nigella (you can sign up for emails and recipes from Delia and Nigella, the latter does a daily one), Diane Henry, Jamie Oliver, Jocelyn Dimbleby (those are old ones), Mary Berry.

I use the cookery section of the Daily Telegraph as well, they've been doing a daily dal recipe, and there is all sorts in there. The Good Food and Delicious websites are great as well.
