To think my 9month old knows/ senses I'm pregnant?

I'm 6months pregnant and have a 9 month old. She will come to me and cuddle my belly and say Aww. She will point at it and and stroke it, lay her head on it. She's so young surly she doesn't know there's a baby in there??? How can she?

She's cuddling you. Very sweet.

bridgetreilly · 02/05/2020 10:06

Maybe she's just copying your behaviour/your partners?

12stepCAKE · 02/05/2020 10:08

She may or not. But I'm sure your stomach is rounder now and it's like a cushion.... Mine all did that to!

I think she definitely senses it. My husband cuddled my tummy and she was not happy. Pushed him off and cuddled my tummy instead. So I asked him to give me a normal cuddle and she was fine, then he cuddled the bump and again she got cross and pushed him off. So weird

My godson (second child) will push anyone away from his mum and scream, he’s been doing it since 6months, he’s 10months now. I think it’s more copied behaviour paired with ‘this is my mummy’ territorial behaviour.

If you're breastfeeding the milk changes.

cinammonbuns · 04/05/2020 16:41

She probably sees your husband doing it and copies him

SpillTheTeaa · 04/05/2020 16:45

Aww how sweet! My 9mo won't let anyone touch me. Such a mummy's boy

Giespeace · 04/05/2020 16:50

Snap! Exactly the same here, to the month for both babies!
DS knows something’s afoot, I’m sure of it. Especially when he’s resting his head on my belly and feels his brother kick. It’s the best feeling ever Grin

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 04/05/2020 17:19

Yes I was wondering if it’s to do with breastfeeding and the milk changing?

Dialdownthedrama · 04/05/2020 17:21

Your behaviour is different. They're not psychic 😂

AndMyHairWillShineLikeTheSea · 04/05/2020 17:54

A 9mo has no concept of what pregnancy is. She's just copying you and your husband.

KindleAndCake · 04/05/2020 17:57

She may sense it, my dog sensed when I was. Her behaviour totally changed, she followed me everywhere.

GrimmsFairytales · 04/05/2020 18:04

I think you've convinced yourself that this must be the reason, so attribute every little sign to her knowing. When rationally she has no idea, and there are likely to be simple explanations for her behaviour such as copying your partner.

It's very sweet, but she's doesn't actually know you're pregnant. Smile

More likely your tummy is her favourite place to hug. She sees daddy where she wants to be, she pushes him off. She doesn’t care about grown up hugs because she’s too little to do it herself.
