Hello!

I’m 35 weeks pregnant, craving chocolate (which we don’t have), grumpy and have a bad back. Please can I have your strangest stories to keep me entertained?

Not necessarily ghost stuff (as that’s a bit too scary for me!) but unexplained things such as time slips, thinking of someone you’ve not seen for years and them getting in touch the same day? Etc etc

I’m afraid I don’t have anything weird to share. Although, my LB was born exactly to the date and time my DF died 14 years previously, I find a lot of comfort in that.

Thanks from a very hormonal grumpy woman!

One morning a few years ago I randomly thought of an old friend who I hadn't seen in a long time. I'd lost his number, he'd moved house, he's not on Facebook etc.
Same day I walked into town to the library. As I went up the steps, someone called my name. It was him. He was only in the city for one day to collect something.

My dds birthday is exactly 21 days after mine, and my ds birthday is exactly 21 days before their dads. Both dc were 2 weeks late, so 1 day either way and the dates wouldn't have matched. This proves I spend too much time counting days and numbers generally.

I used to live in a flat with 2 flat mates, 1 flatmate had his own business which was based 50 miles away, his business partner came to the flat one day and realised that it was the same flat that he had visited many times as a child on holiday when he'd lived over 200 mikes away. He later managed to dig out some photos of the flat and the garden from his holidays.

DH supports Arsenal, has done since he was 6 years old despite not living anywhere near London, but he's now got a season ticket. Anyway, his great Aunt was doing their family tree a few years ago. She phoned to say that she'd found out that Dh's Great-great Grandad (can't remember how many greats) was born in North London on X Road, so he did have some North London roots after all.

DH tried to look it up but couldn't find it. He thought maybe his Aunt had got it wrong, the next time he went to football he asked his friend who has lived in Highbury all his life. It turns out the new stadium is built on top of where X Road used to be! I thought that was a strange coincidence.

I'm always having episodes, that are a little like a deja vu, but not quite. I'll suddenly think of a character or film I haven't seen in years, then later that day or week, I'll see it advertised on the TV as coming on later that week. Or someone will mention that film in conversation etc.

Or, I'll think of someone randomly I haven't see or heard from in months/years, then either get a call from them, or a message or see them on FB, when they haven't been on there in months.

I often call my mother at the same time she calls me. Sometimes I'll randomly think of a very distant relative or family friend, and ask if she has heard from them. 90% of the time, she has heard from them earlier that day or week, whereas it might be someone she only hears from annually. I should add that my mother lives in Australia, whereas I'm in the UK!

This sort of thing has happened to me for years, usually weekly. Someone said I have a 'gift' but just haven't tapped into it, but I have no idea. Could just be a co-incidence, but I've always thought it was weird.

Me and Dh wanted a church wedding. We chose one in the next parish as we liked the congregation and vicar and the church itself was lovely.

After 6 months of attending my gran and grandad came with us one Saturday for morning coffee. My grandad had a thoughtful look on his face then suddenly told us that it was his church as a young lad and he had completely forgotten about it.

Turns out my great grandparents were married in the church next door which no longer is a practicing church but if I have the evidence then i can legally be married or have my children christened there.

The only one I have is that I knew my grandad was going to pass, at this point I was in 6th form and I texted my mum asking how he was at the exact time he died

Got another one, a bit longer this time 😁

Years ago I went out with a guy i really liked, but we split up after a month as I was going to work abroad for the summer.
6 years later I had started a new job and was being given a tour of the industrial estate, which was part of the area owned by my employers, when I saw him working on one of the buildings, he looked up and we made eye contact as I went passed.
About another 3 weeks later I saw him again but on my way to work and about 5 miles away from my workplace, again he looked up and we made eye contact and I waved as I passed.
A few weeks after that I bumped into him in a nightclub and we mentioned that we seemed to be stalking each other, we had a good catch up and said we'd see each other the following week as we'd both been invited to a mutual friends birthday party, neither of us could make it to the party, but we both asked friends to pass on messages to the other which obviously didn't happen.
2 weeks after that I went to Glastonbury festival and bumped into him again in the massive crowd at the pyramid stage.
We started a relationship again, settled down, and had 2 children,
It seems we were destined to get together as the universe kept making us meet until we finally exchanged numbers 😁

My grandparents had an old house with a huge shed and loft. On the steps to the loft a child had painted “Daniel’s Den”.

We often wondered about Daniel and wanted to play with him. DM told us he would be long grown up by now.

First day in a new job in London I was chatting to my boss and he asked me where I was from. I told him and he said he used to live there. I asked whereabouts and he gave the name of my grandparents’ house. Turned out he was the Daniel who had played in the shed 40 odd years before! I couldn’t believe that I’d finally met him.

I started a new job and as I was leaving at the end of the first day my manager asked what my pland were for that evening. I mentioned I was going to see my niece as she had just moved into x area. Manager said "oh I've just moved out of that area, last week. Y Road". I said "not 42? That's where my niece has moved into".

I went to visit my niece and the following day delivered his post that had missed the redirection.
