We have gone cycling a few times during lockdown. Over Easter my son got a puncture so, as everyone says this is a good time to learn new skills, we managed to take the back wheel off his bike, replace the inner tube and repair the puncture (‘very pleased with myself’ emoji!).
My sister (who cycles a lot) said we should always carry a spanner and puncture repair kit with us whenever we go cycling. I have enclosed a photo of the nut on the bike back wheel and all the spanners I own (red ones) We needed size 15 which I didn’t have so we used the big adjustable spanner in the photo. This is quite large and, realistically, too big and heavy to take out with us on our bike rides. So, I ordered a size 15 spanner online and was sent this massive car wrench (size 28!). See photo. I therefore ordered another size 15 and this tiny spanner was sent!
I’m therefore hoping with the power and assistance of Mumsnet it’s third time lucky....AIBU to ask any fellow Mumsnetters who know a thing or two about spanners and/or cycling to send me a link for exactly the right spanner I need (size 15). Many thanks and sending very best wishes x
