AIBU to hate this flowers

Right outside my house is a tree with flowers on it because of a fatal accident earlier this week and now masses of flowers round the bottom of the tree and knitted flowers too. I know people find it helpful to do this but everytime I see them it makes me cry as I had a bereavement two weeks ago. I wish they weren't there, I hate seeing them all the time.

Thats sad - and at a raw time for you. They are grieving too and it makes people feel better to ‘do something’ especially when funerals can’t be attended by many people.

The flowers will go eventually (most likely, but we have a bit of a shrine up the road that’s been there for almost 2 years).

That's hard, I'm sorry.

I would just try to stay distracted and avoid looking at them. The flowers will die soon and will need to be cleared away then.

We had this. Drunk driver- 2 killed

We put out a big trug for the flowers which kept them alive. I totally understood the family and friends coming to the spot as there was an inquest- funerals were delayed etc

The family/friends kept bringing flowers for ages-long after they would have had a grave. It was on our land and we accommodated it for about 3 years but in the end we had to ask them to stop as they wanted to put up a memorial. We agreed to plant a flowering bush in the spot and told them what we had done. We moved shortly after but I drive past and no more items.
