Did anyone elses pay look depressing?

Does anyone know why some people haven’t been paid? The chancellor said everyone would be paid by the end of April that’s all.

RicStar · 30/04/2020 15:28

Your employer has to claim it - it's not automatic, it then takes 6 days for cash to come, it needs to be done around the same time as payroll is run - so if it was for April and employer has just closed payroll they might not have received the cash yet.

MrDarcysMa · 30/04/2020 15:33

Yep, I was furloughed immediately mid march so I was down 200 last month and around 400 this month. DP 20% salary cut too. We're not spending much in lockdown so it's ok for now but when lockdown ends I doubt I'll have a job so we might be screwed then.

DinosApple · 30/04/2020 15:37

DH gets paid weekly, low paid, p/t and 80% so it's not great.
Other things we usually get income from just aren't happening at the moment, but fortunately I'm on 100% so we are getting by. My contract is up in July though so I'm not sure it'll be renewed.

Changeofname79 · 30/04/2020 15:40

DHs looked crap, only 9 days furlough so next month will be awful as itll be the full month.

Thislittlekitten · 30/04/2020 15:43

I’m still waiting to be paid too. My work has had some issues with the portal so we may not get paid until next week. Last pay was 20th March 😕. We are usually weekly so it’s been tough adjusting.

ivfbabymomma1 · 30/04/2020 15:48

Mine went from maternity pay to furlough so I was happy 🤣🤣

Mia1415 · 30/04/2020 15:52

My pay looked rubbish and I've not been furloughed. I've had to accept an 80% pay cut. To be honest though I'm very grateful I've still got a job and I'm working.

junecat · 30/04/2020 15:54

I'm still working but DH was down over £700. Better than job seekers though

AJPTaylor · 30/04/2020 15:57

Yeah. Mine was fucking zero.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/04/2020 15:58

I only work part time so mine was £130 less than normal. I've had an increase in working tax credits by £15 a week so that makes up for a bit of it.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/04/2020 16:00

My employers have been brilliant though. Furlough hadn't been paid out by the time payday came around so I've no idea how they paid us, either with a loan or out their own pockets.

FrenchyQ · 30/04/2020 16:01

This months was fine as they agreed to pay me 100%, from tomorrow tho I only get the 80%, so Mays will look a bit depressing. I'm lucky that DH is still earning a full wage and unlikely to be furloughed at any point.

gamerchick · 30/04/2020 16:02

I’ve been told not to expect mine until it comes through from government!

Yep me as well. Supposed to get paid tomorrow so we'll see.

Alarae · 30/04/2020 16:08

I am on maternity leave, so my pay is fixed.

DH was furloughed two weeks ago, but luckily his company are topping up to 100% for April and May.

If he is still on furlough for June then it will be 80%.

cheeseycracker · 30/04/2020 16:12

DH wasn't furloughed but he took a voluntary pay deferral. 50% so payday was pretty sad looking.

Of course he gets the rest at a later date but they have said it could be next summer.... sigh.

Osirus · 30/04/2020 16:12

I won’t get mine until usual pay day, which is tomorrow. I only work part time so it won’t impact on us much. Glad DH is not on furlough as we’d be losing over £700, which is almost what we pay on our mortgage.

CloudsCanLookLikeSheep · 30/04/2020 16:13

Bloody lovely as my employer topped up to 100% and I got a tax rebate. With saving money on travel and lunches, I'm quids in!

Mumtoone39 · 30/04/2020 16:15

Down £800 pound here, but was what I had calculated, so not surprised. Husband is working as normal and I am saving on travel etc.

KateF · 30/04/2020 16:18

Yes depressing, 80% of not very much is less than my outgoings. Also won't be getting the pay rise that was due to start this month while on furlough. I'm investigating ways of earning some extra cash rather than spending my meagre savings.

Meggie2008 · 30/04/2020 16:20

Down a couple of hundred quid, so a bit rubbish but no where near as bad as it could have been!

Abreadsandwich · 30/04/2020 16:31

I was paid on same day as normal pay day.
There is a website called thesalarycalculator.co.uk that is quite useful to work out what you should get (for those who havent yet got paid)

Hedgehog44 · 30/04/2020 16:35

20% of a pittance isn't a lot to lose! I deferred my council tax and it pretty much covered it.

Alyic · 30/04/2020 21:32

I'm up £200, I'm assuming my lovely boss has paid me 100%, I do different hours each month and the accountant was working out the average

arethereanyleftatall · 30/04/2020 21:37

I got less. Should have got £500 (ish), got £450 (ish) but only worked £400 (ish) so I'm happy enough with that.
