Aibu to ask your best guess re ending lockdown

I’m desperate to get back to work. I’m enjoying being with my family, but I love work and there are some exciting things I want to get stuck into.
My work is based in a small, independent shop, luxury items. (No essential whatsoever). Social distancing with other staff and customers fairly easy to implement.
Aibu to think I’ll be back at work by mid May? 🤞

This is lighthearted btw. I’ve just had enough of trying to home school!

I'm sure it will be done bit by bit, and who knows which sorts of business will be allowed back first. Although I strongly suspect that pubs and restaurants, especially small ones where social distancing will be hardest to implement, will be among the last.

Pure guesswork, but I suspect they might not want to ease any lockdown measures close to a bank holiday weekend, so I'm thinking early June.

Yes it will be staggered, rather than opening everything at the same time. I imagine they’ll open small shops/cafes first with a limited capacity and extend from there. Eventually pubs and restaurants will open but with a limited amount of people inside. I think last to re-start will be concerts/festivals/sporting events with large crowds.

I want tomorrow, hate homeschooling but I think June, Wetherspoons have just announced they will start opening June, a few companies seem to be gearing up for that.

Although I think they will start to relax things 11th May, but not schools opening

Wednesburg the eleventytwelfth of Juvember

I think another 3 weeks after 7th May and then they will start to ease slowly. So I would say early June for some restrictions to be lifted. Might be another few weeks before you can go back to work though

imsooverthisdrama · 29/04/2020 19:43

I think shops will be gradual mid May is a possibility there will probably be social distancing involved can that be implemented in your shop? .
I'm fed up now too it doesn't matter how busy I try to be I just feel like I'm existing not living and I'm wasting my days . Apart from maternity leave this is the longest I've not worked in my whole adult life so it's alien to me .

Thingsthatgo · 29/04/2020 19:54

Thanks for all your thoughts. Maybe early June then...after half term?
Does anyone else think that it’s weird that in some of the European countries (Switzerland, Denmark, maybe Germany) the first phase includes hairdressers, massage parlours and tattoo studios... they seem quite close contact places.

I'd expect easing of restrictions from mid may onwards. Slowly. I'd expect school to re open gradually from June.

oblada · 29/04/2020 20:00

France is re opening the school on May 11th onwards and we're 2 weeks behind or thereabout.

Yes YABU to ask, there's at least 5 of these threads everyday. No one knows and no one will know till we are all told at the same time by the government what the plan is.
