DH organised to have the internet upgraded yesterday, I was a bit apprehensive about it as I am totally reliant on the WiFi atm in order to carry on working. DH assured me it would be fine with minimal interruptions.

Mid conference call (Skype) the phone goes dead and all systems down.

Internet guy had asked if he can cut the phone line and DH told him to go ahead Hmm.....

The notification on DH phone which crows like a cockerel and my ds decision to text repeatedly at some obscure hour from his bedroom because he's bored, can't sleep, sends a ton of pictures...

copycopypaste · 29/04/2020 14:01

DS has learnt to whistle. He can do 1 note only...

HemlockStarglimmer · 29/04/2020 15:02

My WFH husband has moved his work set up around so that he has his back to the room. Which means that everyone he video conferences with can see into our living room. 😫

iswhois · 29/04/2020 15:03

Just the constant WhatsApp texting and phone calls from EVERYONE

I'm still working from home and working on my masters dissertation so have even less free time than normal

People assume I'm sitting around with nothing to do so pester and freak out if I don't respond in half an hour. I just think a lot of people are bored

HemlockStarglimmer · 29/04/2020 15:05

Just now for example, his whole team can see me watching shite on YouTube and eating Skittles.

selfisolatingsince2007 · 29/04/2020 15:06

My mum is a doom and gloomer and just LOVES the drama this is creating. She actually wanted to get it. She went on a trip and messaged me saying that she "hoped to get it at the airport". Her logic? She's going to die soon anyway. Lol. Wtf.

imsooverthisdrama · 29/04/2020 15:08

Just all of them at home constantly!!!
At first it was nice now I go for a run just to have half a hour on my own . Sad

dogsdinnerlady · 29/04/2020 15:17

He breathes.

TerrifiedandWorried · 29/04/2020 15:23

DH - criticising the DC constantly but also breathing. Although he has just gone shopping so is forgiven particularly if he manages to get maltesers.
DD(16) - saying 'Not gonna lie' at the beginning of every sentence
DS1(13) - has started doing man farts that smell eye wateringly bad. He is also constantly exercising and admiring himself in shiny surfaces
DS2(10) - has turned into some kind of Roman emperor and spends all his time lying on the sofa in his pants demanding delicacies and watching shite on YouTube

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 29/04/2020 15:24

We've got a family member passive aggressively making snipes on FB like "Wish I could leave my kids with MIL to go shopping" or "It's alright for those who get their MIL to babysit so they can have a bath" and "Hmm leaving the children with 70+ MIL - some ppl think the rules don't apply to them" ever since they had a fall out with DH and I

Which invites a whole swathe of replies of how irresponsible and disgusting I am (it's funny how the replies always target the DIL, not the son)

She lives here! What was I supposed to do - make her homeless to fit in with a guideline?!

I do everything that she’s saying with her PA comments and out emojis with all of them

Pic of bath... Wine 🛀 ✌️

Windyatthebeach · 29/04/2020 15:25

6 dc at home..
I have found myself spending more time /chatting with my ddogs and drabbits to keep myself sane..

The80sweregreat · 29/04/2020 15:27

New hobbies that are taken up in Ernest but quickly dropped. ' who knew the guitar was that hard , 80's? ' who indeed?
After a couple of sessions of u tube, the keep fit excuses' Joe wicks is younger than me'

Having ds2 work from home. Ok mostly until it's video call time ' I'm in a meeting can you be quiet please' ?
No time for myself without a man asking me what I'm doing.

Florencenotflo · 29/04/2020 15:32

There is just no alone time any more. I'm like the pied piper of fucking Hamlin... kids following me everywhere. Wanting constant snacks.

DH who is doing our shopping complaining about how much we are spending. When I looked we actually spent £70 less on shopping last month than I budgeted. A combination of Aldi being right next door to where he works so he's been going there, it makes no sense for me to drive past 3 supermarkets to Aldi when I shop. And I factor in money for me to get lunch out at work once a week and a coffee once a week. But DH hasn't done the shopping for years probably so was a little surprised at the cost 😂

imsooverthisdrama · 29/04/2020 15:42

kids following me everywhere. Wanting constant snacks.
Tell me about it , the amount of bread and milk I'm going through too I'm sure I'm feeding another family . Grin
The dc have worked out where I put my secret stash of chocolate too .

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 29/04/2020 15:43

DH came home from work for lunch earlier and happily told me that he had the week after next off.

I'm less than thrilled... He doesn't do being stuck at home very well. Might send him out on daily hikes. Or go on one myself. The reason we are coping so well with lockdown is he's out at work 5/6 days a week.

wink1970 · 29/04/2020 16:04

DH is furloughed and has discovered 'funny' animal videos on YouTube.

It's all I can bloody hear, all day!

Then when I finish work, he has a selection ready to show me! Grrr

CoodleMoodle · 29/04/2020 16:32

DS is 22mo and trying to give up his nap... only he's not doing a very good job of it and is an overtired mess most of the time. Good timing, DS.

And DD(6) veers between acing her homeschooling and flailing around because it's "too hard".

DH hasn't annoyed me too much yet. He's working most of the day and the weekends have been alright. There's still plenty of time!

lyralalala · 29/04/2020 17:09

@HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend I took to just replying "She lives here" to every single one. Then watched as her pals all backtracked with "Well, that's a bit different". After the 12th "she lives here" she blocked me.

The really amusing thing is she only knows these things because she badgers and badgers for specific details when she phones MIL.

MIL is a meanie who won't take up my suggestion of telling her wilder and wackier things each day Grin

icelollycraving · 29/04/2020 17:40

DH naps all fucking day. Then snores all fucking night.
DH has not done anything beyond napping, the lazy fucking arse.
My sister asks every bloody day what I have been up to, have we done any DIY or the garden. No we haven't. She then tells me what they have done in their perfect home. She says how terrified she is to go to the supermarket, then says about visiting Wilkinsons/ B&Q/ Post office blah blah.
Ds has become even more picky with food.
Work whattsapp to keep us 'engaged'.
Thank you, that was cathartic.

Mrsjayy · 29/04/2020 18:01

Dd2 has reverted back to a teenager she got up at half 1 today lazed about periodically eating biscuits !

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 29/04/2020 18:10

DH has a day off tomorrow. He thinks I can spend it sorting the spare room. (His idea to do the spare room... But apart from his work shit he knows where nothing goes... So that translates as me sorting the spare room)

imsooverthisdrama · 29/04/2020 18:17

Dd (21) also annoys me by showering twice a day, once when she gets up around 11am then again about 5-6pm before she makes her own dinner then puts clean pyjamas on . She doesn't exercise so not like she gets into a sweat, just the occasional walk and sits on the sofa with her laptop playing the sims/ doing uni work .
Dh likes to watch repeats of old comedies over and over thankfully he works shifts Grin.
