DH organised to have the internet upgraded yesterday, I was a bit apprehensive about it as I am totally reliant on the WiFi atm in order to carry on working. DH assured me it would be fine with minimal interruptions.

Mid conference call (Skype) the phone goes dead and all systems down.

Internet guy had asked if he can cut the phone line and DH told him to go ahead Hmm.....

@MrsKoala - that's hilarious!

suspiciousmindsthinkalike · 29/04/2020 06:43

DH has decided to go into a massive work related sulk that will last for days. Like things aren't miserable enough at the moment.

Dozer · 29/04/2020 06:52

We both work FT. Similar “level” of roles and of job hassle/stress, but he earns much more (I am public sector).

Have been in “lockdown” for 7 weeks now. DH has cooked one evening meal. He says he is doing weekday lunches, but is so late every day the (primary age) DC (and me) get hungry/hangry and sort ourselves out more than half of the time.

On weekdays he has work calls scheduled all day long, until 6pm, says they are all essential.

During dinner he talks at length and is preoccupied about his work issues.

These things are a problem normally, but even more noticeable now.

Am Angry

Dozer · 29/04/2020 06:53

He is, however, doing a fair share of helping the DC with their schoolwork, and cleaning.

The cooking thing is really getting to me though.

SpillTheTeaa · 29/04/2020 07:28

DP eating anything he can gets his hands on! He eats DS's food before he eats his own and it winds me up! It's just gutsy! He wouldn't usually even eat brown bead Hmm

SparklesAllOver · 29/04/2020 07:50

I have realised, after 18 yrs of being together, that DH is a prolific Mouth Breather. He also fidgets, bites his nails in a noisy, chomping manner and these sounds are giving me THE RAGE!

SparklesAllOver · 29/04/2020 07:53

Oh, AND he eats all the time and complains he is too fat. I make him healthy meals but he eats these and then scrabbles round looking for goodies. I think that wiring his mouth shut would solve everything. Grin

SparklesAllOver · 29/04/2020 07:54

And he is farting all the time!

Abreadsandwich · 29/04/2020 08:02

The week DH did the shop and forgot coffee and crisps and didn't buy enough chocolate.
This sounds like my DH. He would pretend say that there wasn't any coffee or crisps!

Here DH has ignored the fact we have bars of soap and been using my expensive conditioner as shower gel. Apparently it's because he hasn't got his glasses on.Hmm Its an enormous bottle with v large writing on it and looks like no shower gel weve ever used before!

TossACoinToYourWitcher · 29/04/2020 08:04

DH used an entire 1kg bag of flour at the weekend to make around 60 scones. There's me, DH, and two young kids in the house.

The kids don't like them. I'm not bothered by them.

Now I can't bake anything I actually like. Flour is like gold dust at the moment.

He made three different varieties and instead of splitting the recipe he just repeated it 3 times. FFS.

Abreadsandwich · 29/04/2020 08:04

I think that wiring his mouth shut would solve everything.

Maybe not?

And he is farting all the time!

😂😂

Spamellahamella · 29/04/2020 08:22

My DH keeps moaning on about missing work. Usually he hates work. Have realised he's just a miserable sod.

Chillipeanuts · 29/04/2020 08:24

Ate ALL of the chocolate digestives. Last packet. Can’t go to shops for more 😭

WinnerWinnerChickenDinner0 · 29/04/2020 08:43

My dh spends hours in his gym set up in the garage.
The issue is the bloody insane psychotic noises he makes.
Totally ridiculous!!!! It’s a cross between someone with very serious bowel issues and very very bad porn. I can hear it when I’m in the house with the windows closed and the tv on.

To add to it, he them comes in and spends hours with a bloody electric massager thing on his shoulders and talks endlessly about how sore his shoulders are from all the reps.

Give me bloody strength

MoonBlood · 29/04/2020 08:55

@TheSandman DD number 2 has decided to teach herself how to play the Ukulele...

Snap! My eldest started this at the beginning of lockdown! She’s not that bad but I don’t know how many more times I can listen to that Hawaiian style version of ‘Somewhere over the rainbow’ 🤪

Mrsjayy · 29/04/2020 09:01

My dh flicks through ALL the news channels i am talking france 24 and Aljezeera for different news Hmm

Mrsjayy · 29/04/2020 09:06

longcoffee · 29/04/2020 09:21

DH has ordered a banjo

GertrudeCB · 29/04/2020 09:30

Plays YouTube vids of random shite on his phone at full volume, in the same room as I am watching tv.Angry

bitmynailbrokemytooth · 29/04/2020 09:33

TossACoinToYourWitcher - I feel your pain, shocking waste of flour. Scones need to be eaten very fresh ( with lots of jam and cream and maybe strawberries) . They freeze beautifully, can you freeze any of that mega-batch ?

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/04/2020 09:35

How did your DH get them to do that? We have no broadband at all at home because Sky say BT Openreach are not coming to people's houses during this. The dc and dh are driving me mad whining about it.

(Missing point of thread)

tootsey · 29/04/2020 09:38

Not my family, but Dp's. We don't live together, but his whole immediate family have continued to mix households so 5 family members all gathering in one of their houses. Selfish fuckers.

paranoiamumma · 29/04/2020 09:44

My mum is still going out despite being in the at risk group.
I was doing her shopping for her inbetween working and then I discovered she would wait for me to go to work and go shopping herself , when asked why , if I already done it she states"gives me something to do"

I now don't do her shopping so solely for her ( which is daily) I make her wait till my shop day , so now she's telling all in sundry ( including my colleagues ) that I refuse to do her shopping and I am putting her at risk !

LeaveItBarbara · 29/04/2020 09:49

DS has taken to saying really offensive things but in a Welsh accent, so it's 'banter', not being offensive. He's started cracking his knuckles before responding any question (the answer to which is always NO, unless it's an offer of food), so it's like living with Dai the Kray.

MinkowskisButterfly · 29/04/2020 09:58

My mother threw a strop because she wasn't able to come visit to bring Easter eggs for the kids and "see joy on their faces and didn't want them to miss out on easter" (we had bought easter eggs in our shopping so they weren't going without! Oh and she previously asked my keyworker DH to collect them on his way home after a 10 hour shift). Wanted to know why I was being uptight about her visiting - if she got on trouble it wasn't going to affect me. I am vulnerable person and my brother who lives with her I believe is supposed to be sheilding (although she is being cagey when i asked about that).
