To think I can get ripped in 6 weeks?

Long story short - about 20-30 pounds overweight (depending on whether you trust BMIs or not). I’ve spent the last 3 weeks absolutely smashing exercise like never before, following videos, lifting weights, generally quite high intensity stuff - 5 days on, 2 days of doing yoga as rest days.

Also eating a whole lot better, like half what I’d normally gorge on (mainly ate out of boredom, not hunger), and focusing on clean foods, high protein, etc.

I have 6 weeks left of isolation I reckon (live with someone who is shielding). I want to walk out the front door for the first time looking like a Victoria’s Secret Model. But is it actually possible to get ripped in 6 weeks when you started as a fat slug?

YANBU - smash it, she-hulk
YABU - you’re gonna leave isolation still a fatty

I too would love your recommendations from YouTube I’m old and have never been on it really but I have a smart tv so I know I can. Sadly I have a great deal more weight to lose but the will and time is there to do now but I need something fresh

Do you have to pay for these you tube things aside from the free trial aspect ?

Go you!

I reckon you could lose another 12-14lbs in the next 6 weeks if you really keep at it.

Well done OP- it’s lovely to hear how much happier and more energised your new lifestyle is making you! That feeling is what will spur you on to keep going when the novelty has worn off.

As PP have said, losing weight is mostly impacted by your diet. Apparently it’s 80% diet and 20% exercise. I’ve always found they feed off eachother though- if I’m eating well, I want to be active, and if I’m active I want to fuel my body with healthy food rather than crap.

Consistency is also incredibly important! It’s good to hear you’re having rest days- if you go all out for 7 days of the week, by the next week you’re likely to have lost motivation and that’s when it’s easy to stop being consistent. A PT years ago told me ‘consistency causes change’ and that’s a mantra I’ve held on to over the years! It takes something like 21 days to create a habit so the fact you’ve kept it up for 3 weeks is very promising.

If you haven’t already, take some under wear pics now. You don’t tend to notice how much your body has changed and having progress pictures to look back at is amazing and really helpful when motivation levels start to dip.

I am doing half hour on the cross trainer each morning and a 45 min aerobic work out, so about 350 calories each so 700 every morning according to my fit bit, I also do pilates for an hour twice a week. I don't lose weight easy and was doing a similar amount of exercise pre lockdown but over 4 days so not losing much but hoping that doing this daily and at the start of my day will impact my metabolism, which is totally gash tbh so fingers crossed.

Good luck op 👍😁

Am sure that's not true.
I'm hoping to get a plan going once the children are in school and have a routine again.
