To ask when do you think your cleaner will back in your home?

I know lots on here have said they will have their cleaner return, but as a cleaner myself and self employed, realistically when can you envisage they will return? I am trying to work out how this would work if social distancing has to remain in place, especially with elderly clients. Then those who are still wfh. I suppose they could remain in one room, but speaking to a few of mine, they don't want to do that.

So AIBU to ask such a question at this time, as none of us really know what the future holds.

I’m homeschooling so am actually re-starting with one retired couple this Saturday at my request because we’re starting to feel the pinch financially. I asked another client if I could return and she said in a kind way that whilst she would want me back, she wouldn’t want to put me at risk so wants me to return in 3 weeks or so when the peak )in theory) is over.

NotSorry · 27/04/2020 21:27

I would love my cleaner to return - so any time she likes

YeahWhatevver · 27/04/2020 21:29

Will they just make themselves scarce while you're cleaning?

YeahWhatevver · 27/04/2020 21:30

Sorry @Classiccar

underneaththeash · 27/04/2020 21:31

I’d struggle at the moment as DH wfh and 3 children homeschooling who need to be in the PC for The majority of the day, so we would be unable to vacate the house for them to clean.
I suspect realistically it will be May half term.

FarTooSkinny · 27/04/2020 21:51

Things aren't too messy, I'll be fine for a few more weeks

@YeahWhatevver

Yep, different rooms. It’s been discussed extensively.

itchyfinger · 27/04/2020 22:01

Soon I hope. Wish I'd asked her to spend lockdown with us. Although couldn't have afforded to pay her for cleaning up the shit tip my kids create daily.

Serialcatmum · 27/04/2020 22:02

I’m sad that your clients aren’t paying you.

coronabeer23 · 27/04/2020 22:06

Mine came back last week. My house is big enough to social distance and I know she lives alone, has her own car and isn’t currently working for anyone else. Her other clients are all members of my family so I know this for sure.

lanthanum · 27/04/2020 22:07

Mil's cleaner is currently being her gardener instead!

roarfeckingroar · 27/04/2020 22:09

Friday, as usual.

NightCzar · 27/04/2020 22:12

We've just been going out for our exercise while ours have come. This week, they just won't be able to do one room as DD doing online school. The rest of us will sit outside. Makes me feel a bit Downton Abbey, but hey ho.

66redballons · 27/04/2020 22:20

Not yet for me, I surprised people feel having their house cleaned is essential tbh.,

ScottishMum40 · 27/04/2020 22:22

Hopefully as soon as possible! Realistically once lockdown starts to ease. I am often working from home when my cleaners are in (husband and wife team) and just stay in one room to work while they do the rest of the house and then switch rooms so effectively socially distance anyway. If kids are in I’ll just send them out for a walk with DH for the hour and a bit they are usually in although it may take longer the first couple of weeks Grin. I’ve been paying my cleaners throughout lockdown - we’re still being paid (both still working) so thought it only fair.

RainRainGoAway2020 · 27/04/2020 22:23

I won’t be having my cleaner back for a long while yet. She will be touching everything in my house so how can I know she wouldn’t infect us?

Toddlerteaplease · 27/04/2020 22:25

Mine still comes. She's happy to and I go out for a walk when she's in.

TeeBee · 27/04/2020 22:25

Not for a while. To be honest, cleaning my own house has made me realise how slap dash she is. Don't think I'll ask her back.

loveyouradvice · 27/04/2020 22:27

Amazed anyone has their cleaner in at the o.....

And thought everyone who could was paying their cleaners so bit sad about need the money comments....

loveyouradvice · 27/04/2020 22:27

mo of course!!!

GigiLamour · 27/04/2020 22:28

God, I can't wait for our cleaner to come back. No idea when, though. She would have to travel by public transport and I don't feel comfortable asking her to do that at the moment.

HillieBoliday · 27/04/2020 22:30

I’ve wanting to ask this for ages but didn’t dare in case my head got bitten for being a first world problem, etc.
We could keep out of her way, big enough house, but my cleaner doesn’t want to yet. Am waiting with baited breath. Don’t want go keep asking her & put her under pressure I’m hoping if the ddt keeps going down she will be back in a couple of weeks.

HillieBoliday · 27/04/2020 22:31

Bitten off, that should be.Smile

Breadandroses1 · 27/04/2020 22:31

I'm paying ours.

She has primary aged kids though and obviously no other childcare so predict after May half term. I miss her! She does 2 neighbours on the same day so will have a chat with them too.
