Tax credits

I hate claiming tax credits but to make ends meet and having a son with asd I can’t work full time so it’s the the only way we can keep our heads above water. So today I went to check how much my payments are and they were in the middle of being recalculated , as it said it’s renewed automatically I’ve just checked and my payments have been reduced by £110. So I’ve looked at the figures and they put me £500 over for the next tax year even though I’m not working because of co-vid, neither me or my partner were and they’ve increased his by £10,000. surely our overall income wouldn’t be more when we are working less, even on furlough it’s less each month. They stress me out every time. I’ve changed the figures but now have to wait again for them to recalculate. Please tell me I’m not the only one this has happened to 😔

Is it to do with the minimum wage going up from 1st April?

I have hmrc app which is great for monitoring tax credits. And also tax on wages.

Plus easy enough to rectify as just submit changes as you have done.

Suspect it’s the NMW change
