How old a toddler are you talking about - it makes a difference.

Get up at 7 ish, breakfast at about 8.

Lunchtime about 12.

Nap at 1 if we're lucky.

Dinner 4:30/5pm.

7:30 bed.

Whitegrapeandblackberry · 27/04/2020 12:49

OneandTwenty · 27/04/2020 13:05

I am amazed by the people with a very strict routine. No criticism, just impressed. At best, I do things within a rough hour window!

Different with older kids when they are home or just when there's school run, but that's a different question.

poppet31 · 27/04/2020 13:06

Just turned 3
Up at 8am (we're so lucky he's a great sleeper!)
Dressed and then breakfast at 8:30
Lunch at 12
Dinner at 5:30
Bath at 6
Bedtime at 7pm
Sadly dropped nap a long time ago.

fedupwiththisshitnow · 27/04/2020 13:16

When ds was 2.5yo his routine was as below (obviously you can't do some of these things but the timings might help)

7.00am Up & breakfast
8.00am Brush teeth, wash face & get dressed
9.00am Out to soft play / toddlers / nursery / or granny's depending which day of the week
11.15am Lunch
12.00pm Nap
2.00pm Garden / park / play in house
4.00pm TV
5.00pm Dinner
6.00pm Story time
6.30pm Bath & bed
7.15pm Asleep

fedupwiththisshitnow · 27/04/2020 13:17

He would also have a snack mid morning and mid afternoon plus a cup of milk before his bath

Oysterbabe · 27/04/2020 13:22

My son is 2.5.

6:30 wake up
7:00 Breakfast
11:30 lunch
12:00 nap
3:00 snack
6:00 dinner
7:00 bath and story
7:30-8:00 sleep

IMissTheOutside · 27/04/2020 13:25

I have a 1 1/2 year old and we have a rough routine;
7am - Wake up
8am - Breakfast
10am - Snack
12.30pm - Lunch
3pm - Snack
5.30pm - Dinner
7pm - Bath
7.30pm - Bed

Sometimes there’s a 1pm nap and other days there’s not, that really seems to depend on how she’s feeling!
In between those times she plays and we do activities and go out for walks but those always change day to day or she gets bored!

mintchick · 27/04/2020 13:39

3y 4m twins here.
7.15 get up.
8am breakfast.
10.30 snack if requested

5.30 tea
6.44 bedtime routine begins
7.15 story in bed
7.30 lights out.

SophieInTheSky · 27/04/2020 22:50

My son is 2.5 year old

8-8:30 get up, milk in bottle and then breakfast
10ish snack
12 lunch
2-3:30/4 nap
4/4:30 snack
6ish bath, not every day
6:45/7 dinner
7:30/7:45 bedtime routine
8 lights out

Cremebrule · 27/04/2020 23:04

3 year old and 1 year old- we’re a bit out of sorts with lock-down but broadly

7-7.30 awake. Everyone in our room to watch tv while baby has bottle
8.15- 8.30 breakfast
Get dressed, teeth
Play, learning stuff (me try not to cry as baby destroys everything and ruins 3yos fun. General carnage.
11.30 try to get 3yo to do phonics on YouTube
11.45 prep lunch
12.15 baby down for nap. Either 1:1 time with 3yo to do stuff we can’t do with the baby, tv if I’m frazzled or need to do jobs
3 (if lucky) baby up and bottle
Garden time or walk.
4.30 3yo to do ballet or yoga while I have 1:1 time with the baby
5nish make dinner. Hope no-one is injured
5.45-6 kids dinner- we all eat together on my non-working days.
6.30 baby bedtime while 3yo watches tv. Whoever does the baby bedtime does dinner
7.15 start 3yo bath
8 grown up time

Basically, lockdown week 1 we excelled at home schooling. Now it’s all falling apart and the 3yo just wants to watch tv and the baby wants to climb ok tables. I can’t say we’re winning at having a strict routine but we’ve followed the above pattern for years in terms of mornings being activity based and afternoons being more relaxed.

Caterina99 · 28/04/2020 01:47

DD is 2.5. Also have a 4.5 year old. They both follow pretty much the same routine, except 4 year old doesn’t nap. Lockdown means we’re a bit slower on a morning now as nowhere to go, and they probably sleep a bit later and go to bed by 8 instead of 7.30, but overall not much has changed.

7/7.30ish wake up and breakfast
9.30/10ish snack (or nowadays it seems like constantly from 8am they ask for food every few min)
12/12.30ish lunch
1.30-3 nap
3ish snack
5.30/6ish dinner
6.30/7ish bath and cup of milk
In bed lights off by 7.30. 4 year old goes straight to sleep. 2 year old rolls about for an hour if she’s napped and goes straight to sleep if no nap

Neeentay · 28/04/2020 03:52

3yo DS- lockdown routine. Notmal routine pretty much the same bit out to playgroups etc

6am wake, breakfast. Free play
9.30 snack. Play with mummy while baby sister naps
1200 lunch then bit of tv time
1.30pm out for walk/ play in garden
3.30pm snack. Free play/play with mummy/tv depending on mood
6pm dinner
6.40pm bedtime routine starts- shower, stories.
7.30pm lights out

averytiredmom · 28/04/2020 03:59

I have a 3 year old and a 22 month old (and an 8 month old). The toddlers daily routine is generally:

6:30-wake up
7:00-breakfast
9:10-morning snack
12:00-lunch
2:40-afternoon snack
3:00-4:00-nap
5:00-dinner
6:00- bath
7:00- bed

Playtime in between it all.

turtletum · 28/04/2020 04:17

I have a 2.5yo who refuses to nap in the day any more, sad times.

7am wake up, milk
8am breakfast
9am quiet play/crafts
10.30 milk and snack
11am active play/outdoor/garden/scooter
12.30/1pm cooked lunch with whole family which he helps prepare
2pm movie hour (have a newborn, this is our chill out time replacing nap time)
3pm snack (not always wanted) then more running around play
5.30pm dinner (sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, etc)
6.30pm wind down for bed with milk, book, bath
7.30pm toddler actually in bed and maybe close to sleeping

Hannie123 · 28/04/2020 04:42

I don’t have a toddler, but my baby’s routine has been like this for a few months now and I can see as they get older that it will follow suit, minus a nap or two. It goes something like

6-7am awake, change clothes, play
8- breakfast and milk
9-10 nap time
10-12 sensory play, snack, milk followed by nap
1-3 lunch, play, walk, milk then nap
4:30- 6:30 Play followed by dinner, bath, wind down, milk
7ish- asleep (hopefully)

grisen · 28/04/2020 04:59

Mine is around 1.5years but... very roughly

10:30am-12pm sometime between those he will wake up and demand cheese or ham.
1/2pm - lunch, usually from the night before or more ham and cheese in a salad.
IN BETWEEN outside play
2/3pm nap time about an hour or 2.
3-6Pm play, might go back in the garden or play indoors. Have a bath no later than 5pm because HE WILL NOT GET TIRED FROM THIS ACTIVITY.
6pm snack.
6-8pm “helping” his dad cook dinner (as he’s off work, before lockdown he’d sit by the front door, usually playing, waiting for said dad)
8pm dinner
8-11pm trying to calm down, reading books, cuddling, maybe some TV for the parents...
11pm/12am sleep.

He’s a big sleeper, and changing his hours doesn’t work. We have been trying for the past year to get him to sleep normally but it only results in pure hatred towards the offending parent.

HarryHarry · 28/04/2020 05:52

Mine is 2.

5:30am - wake up (used to be 7:00am until it started getting lighter earlier in the mornings)
6:00am - breakfast, get dressed, brush teeth, play.
10:00am - go for a walk
11:30am - lunch
12:30pm - nap for 2 (or sometimes 3) hours!
2:30pm - snack, play
5:00pm - sometimes watch 30 mins of TV while we cook dinner.
6:00pm - dinner
7:00pm - bedtime routine (bath, teeth-brushing, storytime)
7:30pm - sleep
