Should you be able to see this much of a child’s ribs?

I know apparently you should be able to see a child’s ribs if they are not overweight, but is seeing the ribs from the front from collar bone down really ok? Am I being unreasonable to think it looks underweight as opposed to healthy?

If others in the house will eat them and you have the stuff in I would still make them with her. Let her have some fun with food and then she may or may not decide to try it.

How active are they? Both DN are 99th centile for height, between 10-25 centile in weight and you can see collarbones but not upper ribs as they have natural muscle from climbing around. My youngest nephew was a bag of bones until he began yoga and now is beginning to fill out in a fit way too.

She’s usually fairly active, comes on walks, rides her bike, will climb anything, but she’s lethargic at the moment. She’s definitely lost a bit of weight recently and she’s very slight anyway so she doesn’t really have any to lose. Although I think she’s gotten taller. I don’t know if she’s a bit poorly so not eating, or not eating so lethargic, but if she stops eating it’s hard to get her started again, it’s been a concern since she was 9 months, consultant thought she had toddler diarrhoea and would grow out of it. I find it hard not to worry about her partly because of her attitude to ‘fat’ which started when she was about 2!

She’s chosen a lunch she wants to make out of her cook book and thought of a couple of ‘sides’ so will go out and get those bits. (I’m supposed to be WFH!) She only had a couple of spoons of porridge for breakfast but she did have 2 small cups of milk.

Ah ok I think a GP visit is probably in order judging by your last post

If you're not working at the weekend, get your Mum to text the recipes and you and dd could have a go at cooking them. She could portion them up for dinner every few days.

Perhaps shift your cooking towards your Mum's a little over the next few weeks then shift back bit by bit..
