Barbecue once a week

During the nice weather we’ve had a barbecue once a week for either lunch or dinner on Saturday or Sunday. The husband has just fired up the barbecue and next door neighbour has popped her head over the fence to ask us not to do it any more as the smoke blows across their patio. So is it unreasonable of me to want one meal a week in this way? Or is it unreasonable of her to expect to enjoy her garden sunbathing every moment of every day? It really is just one meal a week, so smoke being produced for maybe two hours.

We bbq at least once a week between March and October- usually gas but sometimes coal, we also smoke meat a couple of times a year and occasionally light the fire pit ....today we had bbq for lunch and we've just relit to do pizzas .....neighbours 1 side regularly smokes marijuana the other side do diy or garden jobs earlier than I'd like including creosote all over his fence Easter Sunday ....

Get one of these. Problem solved. Or reduced, at least.
They’re fabulous.

Barbeque smell - lovely, don't mind it in the least.

Stench of firelighters and accelerants because they're not capable of lighting one properly - foul.

I’d make maybe suggest you bbq at another’s area in your garden. The smell and smoke is annoying. Our neighbour had one yesterday , as long as my washing wasn’t out and my windows are closed then I won’t moan.

I’m not a fan of bbq’s I don’t understand people’s having them in their garden when their is a cooker in the house.

My house does have a cooker but I don't want to have to go inside and cook when I can be out in the sunshine, I also don't want it to heat up the house

Not unreasonable if once a week but now that rain is on its way, may not be an issue next weekend.

YANBU, and I say this as someone who really dislikes the smell of a barbecue.
I hate it when I have to close the windows agains the smell of lighter fuel and then burnt meat. Blurch! But, I know my opinion is way off kilter for most people and would never dream of saying anything to my neighbours.

Can you move the barbecue to somewhere where the smoke cannot blow over the fence?
