Whole Chicken Part Frozen

Yesterday I picked up a whole chicken to cook in the slow cooker. I do this regularly.

I put it in the fridge when I got home. Just gone to get it out and a bit of the back of it has frozen in the fridge! YIBU to still cook in the slow cooker and eat? Or would it make us ill?

I’m so annoyed, as this is to last 3 dinners!

Thank you.

It will cook for at least 8 hours.

It will be fine. As long as its all hot and cooked through when you eat it, which it will be.
Not quite the same but I cook frozen chickens in my pressure cooker all the time.

Yes, it’ll be fine. Cook away.

Wait for it to defrost? Then put it in the slow cooker. Dinner will just be a bit late.

It's fine, just cook it.

As long as it's piping hot all the way through it makes no difference :)

I’d let it defrost a bit in the kitchen (this won’t hurt the rest of it) then cook away.

Thanks. I need to go out now so I’ve put it in the slow cooker. I left it on the side for about 15 mins and it seems to already defrost a little.

I usually cook it for at least 8 hours in the slow cooker, then 20 mins in the oven at the end so it should be well cooked.

Thanks Smile
