AIBU not to agree with any just to keep the peace? She is always going on about one conspiracy or another. Vaccines, covid19, the Government etc etc. Did man land on the moon? Did the men in grey kill Diana?

Does anybody else have a conspiracy theory we can put to bed??

I was informed of this one by a guy I crossed paths with through my job, initially seemed normal regular person.
He asked if I had kids, yes I replied, you know they’re not really yours?
How is that?
When you register the birth, the number at the top of the birth certificate is their ID number and it’s held in a US vault!
And why is that?
So if they’re ever needed by the US government they can find them.
Why would they be needed?
To be secret operatives for the state.
Why would the US Government decide they need wee Bob from Glasgow to be a secret operative?
He then got quite angry and said where do you think the missing kids go?
At that point I did laugh and he stomped off fuming.
🤪😳🤪😳

I could imagine the Covid-19 escaped from a Wuhan lab as its not outwith the realms of possibilities. However I know someone who believes Bill Gates invented it to make money off the vaccine and that the secret anti-aging drug the celebrities all take got cross-contaminated with covid and that's why they're all catching it. She sent me links of YouTube videos to watch, telling me she stopped reading mainstream media a long time ago because they manipulate facts for their own agenda.

I don't have to respect those opinions. She can have them, that's her right, but I don't have to respect her for it.

pennylane83 · 26/04/2020 10:01

The conspiracy theory about world lockdown not being about Covid but actually about climate change. We are on the verge of tipping the scales to the point of no return regards the enviornment/climate change and none of the G8 countries seem likely to meet there climate reduction targets etc so, the whole world goes into lockdown, no cars on the road, no emissions into the atmosphere from factories etc and just look at how the natural world is benefitting with just a tiny bit of breathing space. Lockdown is merely setting up the world for a new way of living going forward. I mean, when exactly was the last G8 conference and how soon after did we all go into lockdown.....

Naturalbornkiller · 26/04/2020 10:12

@JKScot4 I've heard a different variation on that. Apparently registering the birth makes the child property or in debt to the country or somthing. If you don't register the birth the child isn't bound by law and is essentially free and won't have to pay taxes. They sight and old shipping law as evidence. There's been actual court cases. I think it then tied into organ donation.

I don't think covid19 was created to sell vaccine or that its some sort of biological weapon. Maybe released by accident but the animal thing is just as plausible.

However, the WHO over inflated the danger of swine flu to sell their donors pharmaceuticals. So I think they probably over inflated this to do the same, and Bill Gates is their biggest independent donor, and does make vaccines. I don't think they would chip you without your knowlage or permission.

The 5g things nuts.

I think alot of people's very low and skewed opinions of conspiracies theorist on this thread shows why they work in the govs favor. It's tarring all with the same - idiots spewing nonsensical shit on the Internet - brush that stops people from questioning what they have been told, or from listening to real whistle blowers.

Naturalbornkiller · 26/04/2020 10:22

secret anti-aging drug the celebrities all take got cross-contaminated with covid

That would be adrenochrome, harvested from the blood of tortured children. That's is a fucking out there conspiracy. Apparently there is a video of Hillary Clinton harvesting adrenochrome from a baby. But no matter how nuts that sounds, it is based in fact. Child trafficking is massive, the biggest criminal industry in the world, the Clinton's have been linked to people accused and charged with child abuse and trafficking. A lot of celebs do look very young then sometimes, suddenly very old and hagged, and many are addicted to drugs. And Hollywood does have a problem with child abuse. You just have to ignore the mad bits and look at the real stuff.

DingoDing · 26/04/2020 10:22

@Tdaadfb100 what's the problem with id2020?

fessmess · 26/04/2020 10:23

piglet the Spanish flu came from an American pig farmer who went off to an army training camp. He was patient zero. If he contracted it from pigs then I can see how easily it could come from a wet market. Trouble with conspiracy theories is there is never any hard evidence to back them up and they cause hatred, fear and fuel discontent. Don't get me started on antivaxxers. Look at protests in USA. They are literally denying the 20000+ death toll in NY and saying it's being overblown in order to control them. I have seen the film of mass graves and refrigerated trucks but, no they're being controlled by the governor. So, 100s more die. It is lunacy.

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 26/04/2020 10:24

Prince Phillip doesn’t even want a State funeral when he dies anyway.

Piglet89 · 26/04/2020 10:31

@fessmess believe me I do agree with you on the anti-vaxing thing. My dad seems to have turned into a conspiracy nut in lockdown and is sending me all this random US-based nonsense from YouTube on that very topic. It absolutely makes my blood boil.

I just happen to think that, on balance of probabilities (and in absence of concrete evidence either way) such a virus is more likely to to have originated from a lab than the wet market. And I don’t trust anything China says ONE IOTA (not unreasonably, I think).

Piglet89 · 26/04/2020 10:32

@MiniMinion that’s the same stuff my dad sends me! It’s driving me insane.

DingoDing · 26/04/2020 10:33

What about the scientific evidence that says it didn't come from a lab though?

Katjolo · 26/04/2020 10:34

I think it's true that mainstream media bombard people with nonsense/celeb trash to distract from bigger issues.

Piglet89 · 26/04/2020 10:39

EXACTLY, @Navelwort

Pertella · 26/04/2020 10:43

naturalbornkiller ah, the Freeman on the Land lot! Hilarious and tragic at the same time. There was a man who refused to pay his mortgage because he was swayed by their bollocks. Ended up being repossessed and doubled down on the insanity.

GenghisCalm · 26/04/2020 10:43

@Knobblybobbly the documentary series is called Hunting Hitler I think it was on either the Discovery or History Channel.

AntiSocialDistancer · 26/04/2020 10:44

My own conspiracy theory...

Haven't we had unseasonably good weather since there was such a severe shut down? In March or April who can name a rainy week?!

Perhaps governments do have some control over the weather!!

My husband looked at me like I was completely bonkers when I told him as I normally dont go for any conspiracy theories Grin

I don't genuinely believe this by the way, but when if we get a really miserable wet and dreary week after lock down restrictions are lifted I will be more concerned Grin Grin

Feel like I need a tin foil hat after all!!!

Piglet89 · 26/04/2020 10:45

@DingoDing I would be very careful about what sources you read. And I wouldn’t just immediately take the BBC’s line as read - it’s important to have a healthy degree of scepticism, particularly in light of China’s lying and obfuscation on the issue. Why the need for all that?

allianceforscience.cornell.edu/blog/2020/04/did-covid-19-escape-from-a-lab/

I think this is likely to be a fairly objective and reliable source. My own view is that the lab was studying and isolating bat viruses, which were accidentally released due to lax security and safety measures (or someone accidentally breaching those measures).

But I really don’t know if we will ever learn the truth.

Helmetbymidnight · 26/04/2020 10:45

I think it's true that mainstream media bombard people with nonsense/celeb trash to distract from bigger issues.

Can you break this down a bit for us.

Bigger issues are not in the media?
Which mainstream media do you mean?
The owners of media outlets are deliberately avoiding talking about bigger issues?
you don't think it has anything to do with what sells but a deliberate conspiracy to oppress people?
Who do you think told them to do that?

IndecentFeminist · 26/04/2020 10:54

There are loads around about Bill Gates and drug trials masked as vaccines, curving fertility etc etc.

Naturalbornkiller · 26/04/2020 11:01

Haven't we had unseasonably good weather since there was such a severe shut down? In March or April who can name a rainy week?!

Nah, it's always nice in April, has been for years. I booked my wedding in April for that exact reason. For years now our summers have gone from march/April to September/October with intermittent rain. We lost most of spring and autum years ago. I think the Russians stole them didn't they 😁

Heatherjayne1972 · 26/04/2020 11:06

It’s a slippery slope in my opinion- you start with one then slide into all the others
My sister is very much into conspiracy
Started with ‘investigating’ the JFK assassination Then it was the moon landings flat earth princess Diana the queens a lizard
David Icke is her go to person

Lately it’s been pigeons having their batteries changed. 5G and corona is a cover for all sorts of things

Tdaadfb100 · 26/04/2020 11:13

@dingdong
Well, it depends on what people are willing to accept. It’s the gradual reduction of your privacy and rights that ‘the crazies’ (or whatever people want to call them) are worried about, although the silly stories are fun... but, of course, potentially dangerous.
The thousands of satellites going up, possible forced vaccinations, ‘health’ passports, facial recognition everywhere, the surreptitious passing of laws..the gradual restriction of your freedoms, actions and speech.
I’m not sure why people actually believe that any governments, and the press ever tell the truth.
We will follow China if we are not careful... only time will tell. Why is Hong Kong fighting so hard against China. They see it coming. What will the future look like for generations to come.
But in the meantime, people should do
own research and make their own conclusions instead of ridiculing people searching for answers. (Or they can carry on believing The Daily Mail!)

Helmetbymidnight · 26/04/2020 11:44

I doubt anyone who doesn't accept conspiracy theories is a Daily Mail believer. What an absolutely bizarre thing to say.

Helmetbymidnight · 26/04/2020 11:46

Can you tell us your theory of who or what is behind the restriction of freedoms?

Navelwort · 26/04/2020 11:55

But in the meantime, people should do own research and make their own conclusions instead of ridiculing people searching for answers. (Or they can carry on believing The Daily Mail!)

And if their idea of a credible source is 'something someone said on Twitter', their 'research' and eventual conclusions will be about as valuable and bear about as much relation to reality as the Daily Mail Sidebar of Celebrity Cellulite.
