Hello everyone,

I just wanted to say I’m very sorry about the cough thread I started saying people with coughs should stay home. Having read through the thread, I’ve realised I was being totally unreasonable and I am sorry if I have upset anyone. No excuse but I am suffering badly from anxiety at the moment and lashing out in an irrational way. I hope you are well and safe.

No idea how anybody is calling you unreasonable for you making a lovely apology but just ignore them. You have apologised and that's their issue now not yours. Have a lovely evening.

LellyMcKelly · 25/04/2020 20:49

It’s ok. It’s a stressful time for all of us. We’re all a bit fraught at the moment 😊

TooTrueToBeGood · 25/04/2020 20:49

It shows a lot of character to apologise. Put it behind you now and enjoy your evening.

Pixie2015 · 25/04/2020 20:50

Think we all get a bit twitched when we hear a cough - it’s sad that a lot of people have to put up with it everyday- lovely to read this post take care and hope you feel better soon x

@Hopefulworker it would have made more sense if you had posted this apology on the original thread. I hope you are getting help for your anxiety.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 27/04/2020 08:07

You should post on your own thread and not start a new one

beebeedandelion · 27/04/2020 08:20

Good of you to say so OP, it's tough at the moment and many of us have a shorter fuse than usual 💐

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 27/04/2020 09:00

Its very good of you to say so

Posters were absolutely right about people who cough covering our mouths etc, though I’m sure most of us do

It is a scary time Flowers

saraclara · 27/04/2020 09:27

It's not often someone reflects on something they've said and apologises. So good on you, OP.

I'm coughing like a Mofo at the moment (five weeks and counting after my chest infection). I'm trying to suppress it when I'm out, but so far when one's slipped out, I've been able to say to the nearest person "sorry...don't worry, this isn't 'that' cough!" and they've smiled back and not run away!

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 27/04/2020 09:31

I seem to have a nervous cough everytime i go to a shop

Dd drove me the other day (hasn’t driven in 5/6 weeks) and said she’d wait in the queue with me and wait elsewhere While im in there

BOTH of us needed to cough!!! And she doesn’t even have a ‘usual’ cough!

vodkaredbullgirl · 27/04/2020 10:25

Could have said it on the post you started.

Morning, everyone. We're going to close this thread to new posts now to stop it becoming a very long thread about a thread.

But thanks for the apology, OP. We're sure it's appreciated. Feel free to post again on your previous thread if you want to.
