Used to teach...now retraining to join NHS and finding that stressful too. Not as stressful as teaching but i struggle with workplace politics. I want to get a mortgage with my dp so i need to work but how do i come to terms with the fact that i have 20 years plus left of work when really i struggle with people?
I do have a work ethic and am quite happy doing my studies or doing work where i can get on with it like the self emplyed cleaning i do but i need a higher wage etc.

Try aonething else like palliatuve care, accountancy, morg, autopsy, funeral make up person, work at vets, grooming animals, start as a cleaner then open a cleaning business.

You must find a way to focus on what you are getting out of it: money, mortgage, home.
Or readjust your wants in life so you dont need a higher wage.

I did a very long houred, stressful job I hated for just long enough to get a mortgage on the smallest possible property we could reasonably all live in. Now I do a part-time job I enjoy, for far less (but enough) money.

Money really can't but happiness. I'd say re-evaluate your 5 year plan.

*buy happiness!

How much do you hate it? If it's effecting your health and you dread going then I'd look for something else. I had a job I hated I used to get to a mini roundabout just before my work place and when I saw this roundabout I'd feel sick because I knew I was nearly there.

I don't like my job now but I don't hate it. So I tell myself it's just work. It's not worth thinking about at home and getting upset. I do my best when I'm there and I work hard but it's just a job and I need a job so I can pay my mortgage and other debts but that's all it is.

Is it just the politics you don't like? Would being self employed or working on your own suit you more?
