Anyone managed to get a refund from British Airways?

Just that. Flight was cancelled but no matter what time I call I get the same message saying for the sake of their staff they cant take my call now.
I've tried early, middle of day, late.
They won't accept email refund requests.

It's a lot of money tied up...

Try tweeting them! We seem to have had some success with that but haven’t yet actually got the money so who knows how successful we have been!

Glad it worked for you too! We still haven’t had our money back yet though we have received an email saying that they are going to refund us so hopefully won’t be too long!

OK, I want to share this. I have been tearing my hair out about my BA flights since March. Impossible to reach them; they wouldn't even cooperate (or pick up the phone) with my credit card company. Then they finally said they had paid my Paypal account (no, they hadn't)... I could go on and on; can't reach 'em by phone or the web, etc. THEN! I found some old posts and one suggests calling their Gold line: 0800 123 111. I did, got a real human being, quickly, and voila! I had my refund 24 hours later on Paypal, and 5 days later on my credit card. Pass this around; it worked, beautifully!
