Found a random nano sim card in the house

Tonight i found an o2 nano sim card on the floor of my daughter's room.

My kids are too young for it to be theirs. It isn't mine. It must belong to my husband??

What reasons could there be for having another sim? Or how else could a sim card could have appeared in my house?

I don't think it fits in my phone handset (samsung s8) so how do i find out what's on it?

I realise the obvious answer is to ask my husband, but i don't want him to lie to me. He has been a problem gambler in the past and I'm wondering whether he could be using another phone to gamble on. But i have access to his online banking (which he knows i check) and there are no recent gambling transactions.

Oh do you mean with the other thread about finding a phone?! Total coincidence and sounds like totally different situations!

Are you definitely sure that kids are too young? They are free to pick up at some places or they might’ve found it on the floor?

The SIM cards in itself are very very cheap, if not free- also sometimes you can get a duplicate SIM card sent when you renew your contract, or the middle of the bigger SIM card can pop out and leave a useless nano one?

Freddiefox · 24/04/2020 21:15

Have you tried your phone to see if it fits.. I thought most were nano sims

Whaleandthesnail · 24/04/2020 21:17

I could try it in mynphone but need to find a pin or something to open it. Thought it was too small for my phone but worth a try.

Kids are defo too young - 4 and 6!

If your phone uses a larger sim you can get an adapter. But in general very little data is stored on the SIM itself nowadays.

Changing networks requires a new SIM, changing phones sometimes does too, that would leave an old SIM.

Otherwise the things are so small I can easily imagine one being tracked in on the bottom of a shoe or in a fold of clothing or suchlike.
