Ugh! I know this is anxiety speaking but I’m so worried about being in any kind of proximity to people! Is 2m really enough?

I think because I’m overweight, I’m a size 24/26 so I’m assuming it’s my weight that’s the problem . I’m not too sure to be honest ! Friend is much bigger than me sadly and she’s working in a covid ward so goodness knows !

@Wanderlust21

Yes it lives on surfaces, BUT not usually for long in an an 'active' form. So theres all the stats about 3 days on plastic ect...but they do usually mention it is in an inactive form. People just dont tend to hear that part cause they are too busy disinfecting their mail lol

Unfortunately, I think they DO mean in the active form. It stays infectious on e.g. steel and plastic for several days (up to 9 days I read in one journal). Up to 24h on cardboard, so best to leave your mail for a couple of days before opening it? Or open all of it each Sunday.

As for 2m, not enough, but better than our normal distance when chatting to someone.

I thought you were talking about money and thought bloody hell, I know there are (supposedly) stinking rich people on here but £2m not enough! Grin

I personally have always been doubting the validity of 2 metres. However, it had to be something that still enabled us to go shopping etc!!! Vapour from sneezes can travel about 6 metres, I believe.
That's why I get so annoyed with people meeting up with others when out but keeping '2 metres apart'. Fat lot of good that will be when it becomes apparent that it should have been more...

@Russellbrandshair @Mistystar99 @Fluffybutter

If you're just going to be sarcastic & horrible to people struggling, stop opening threads about CV. People struggling don't need your nastiness

TimeWastingButFun · 30/04/2020 15:24

I always leave 3m at least. Better safe than sorry!

aerosocks · 30/04/2020 15:25

There's really no need for sarcasm folks.

@Hopefulworker You keep starting threads in AIBU which is probably not the best place - it's where people come looking for a fight.

Perhaps if you are needing advice and support, you would be better asking your questions in other parts of MN such as relationships or general health.
