NC, neighbour found egg in her garden, abandoned with no nest around..

Anyone know what bird this is from??

It’s quite big so could be a pigeon. They are not very good at making nests, as they tend to be made of twigs and not neatly woven.
Sometimes a strong wind can disturb the eggs.

It’s not far off the size of one of our bantams eggs so must be a fairly large bird!

Maybe some sort of tit? Should have left it alone really

No way is that a Tit egg.

The pigeon's eggs I've seen are whiter and longer.

TBH, it looks most like a hen's egg that's been stolen and dropped by a fox to me.

Keep it warm and see if it hatches.

It might be a dinosaur egg.

Or some kind of bird.
