What is your favourite kind of weather?

I’m incredibly fair skinned and can’t sit out in my garden at the moment without burning to a crisp even with factor 50 on. It’s 20 degrees here but feels more like 30.
My ideal weather is when it’s about 12 degrees but dry and sunny so I can sit outside with a jumper on. My DP prefers it to be scorching hot and he loves visiting his mum in Thailand where it gets up to 40 degrees during their hottest months. He gets miserable in the winter here.
How do you like it best?

I would need far more than a jumper at 12 degrees. Today has been glorious, but I would prefer it to be a few degrees warmer we had 18 degrees.. I would like to wear summer clothes and not wear socks. For that to happen it needs to be at least 23 degrees.

Most mumsnetters hate summer, but the relentless rain and grey weather that we have had between September and the beginning of April has been utterly miserable, so this sunshine has been very welcome.

This is my kind of weather, we can't last long without sun cream (aiming for 30 minutes in the garden earlyish for vit d), I do burn easy and my kids are very fair bit we all love this weather with the pool out etc. The sun lifts my mood (I suffer with depression which is worse in winter months) The only downside is the neighbours.

funinthesun19 · 24/04/2020 22:29

I love a bright, warm sunny day. Blue skies.
I find winter dark and depressing.

RoseMartha · 24/04/2020 22:33

I like a sunny day with very light breeze about 22 degrees.

missmouse101 · 24/04/2020 22:37

Cool. 10-15 degrees. Can't bear blazing sunshine.

KizzyWayfarer · 24/04/2020 22:41

Late spring / early summer 23C and a light breeze.

Or sitting outside relaxing in the evening of a really hot day (but I’m not so keen on very hot weather in the daytime and get paranoid about getting sunburn).

MoonlightMistletoe · 24/04/2020 23:02

I love the sunshine with a cool breeze.

j712adrian · 24/04/2020 23:09

Sunny, warm-ish, and windy. Heaven.

wonderstuff · 24/04/2020 23:14

I think lockdown weather has been amazing. I'm fair skinned but with very dark hair, I don't tan easily but don't seem to burn to quickly either. I'm happy if its warm enough to be outside without a coat (about 17°C?) until it hits 30°C. Sunshine makes me happy, I my mood noticeably goes up or down depending on the sunshine.

When I was younger I hated being outside, now I bloody love it.

VetOnCall · 25/04/2020 02:46

Blue sky and sun, I love it. About 24-25 degrees is perfect but as long as it's sunny I don't really care how hot it gets.

I live in Calgary and it is very dry here, there's practically no humidity. It's also the sunniest city in Canada so most days in winter are freezing cold (regularly below -20) but sunny with completely clear blue skies. It is obviously extremely cold but it's bright, dry and crisp 90% of the time so overall it's vastly nicer than miserable, grey, damp cold that seeps into your bones. It looks stunning - see photo. I still prefer the hot, dry summer though!

Purpleartichoke · 25/04/2020 02:49

Overcast. Absolutely no sun. I’m practically part vampire.

Just a hint of chill in the air.

BelfryBat · 25/04/2020 02:52

18C, sunny, stiff breeze.

emilybrontescorsett · 25/04/2020 14:33

I like it hot/warm. Blue sky and warm enough to wear a sundress and sunglasses.

Terralee · 25/04/2020 14:35

I like it hot, 26 - 30c, no wind, able to wear just a dress and flip flops & sit outside til late in the evening.
Maybe I should emigrate.

AdoptedBumpkin · 25/04/2020 14:36

I like warm and sunny, but not too warm. I'm also quite partial to a crisp autumn day providing it's not uncomfortably cold.

ChristmasFluff · 25/04/2020 15:52

I love all weather except constant rain.

I love Britain - just as I'm getting cheesed off with the heat, Autumn chill arrives. Then just as the cold and dark is getting me down (after feeling so cosy for so long), hooray! It's spring!

I cannot choose my favourite season any more. It used to be Autumn because I was very goth and it meant the end of summer and nearly Christmas. Now I love them all!

NameChangeNugget · 25/04/2020 15:56

Mid 30’s and sunny

iklboo · 25/04/2020 16:09

Extremely heavy rain and thunderstorms. I used to have to be stopped going out and standing in them as a kid. Even better if the rain is slightly warm.
