To ask how to stop being so scared? I've seen something that's scared me so much

It's so silly Blush

Basically I've been watching an old programme from years back. It isn't even suppose to be 'scary' but I'm really frightened by it. Had to bring toddler DS with me so I could go for a wee and not be too scared...

How do you just STOP being scared? I kept watching it because it is so fascinating but I always regret.

It wasn’t the one with the red-eyed thing was it? That scared the shit out of me. I still can’t watch it now. My DH laughs at most of them if they’re on but I can’t watch them, used to be shown on CBS Reality in a double bill with ‘Mostly True Stories: Urban Legends Revealed’.

I recommend something light-hearted as an antidote.

DieSchottin I found it terrifying but dh was enjoying it and was disappointed when we stopped watching it.
However I don’t like scary or violent films/series and I hate vomiting scenes which doesn’t really leave me much choice Grin
We’ve been watching a series about Putin which is scary but not in a supernatural way.

I'm such a wuss. Even Sherlock is too scary for me. Could not watch XFiles these days even. I did love it back in the day.

Rather like SingingSands suggested, can you describe exactly what frightened you, not in the context of what you watched but how it actually is in real life. It'll take the wind out of the sails.

For example:- some writers put together a story about a ghost that appears in a mirror. They cast an actress to play the ghost and used a make-up artist to make her look scary. The other actress who pretended to see the ghost was very good and although she was only playing a part, she did it so well that she began to make me feel scared even though it was all fake.
