DH and odd behaviour recently

Few examples. Randomly shouting and screaming then making out that he was as surprised as me by it.

Asked me yesterday to bring the biscuits in from kitchen ... “will you bring the BISCUITS in? The fucking biscuits!” Followed by a scream. He doesn’t normally swear in normal conversation or if he does it’s not a common occurrence

He’s just rang me and said the following:

“On your way home from work will you pick up some milk and maybe grab some FUCKING FLAPJACKS or something to NIBBLE ON like a BASTARD RABBIT”. I said “why are you shouting??” And he said he didn’t mean to. This is not normal for him! He doesn’t go out of his way to seek attention or be funny. All these example are from the past week. He’s been isolating

My DH suffers with psychosis which is stress induced. This has happened again since lockdown and he has been in hospital. The things you are describing sound very familiar. Please call the GP.

YouDancin · 22/04/2020 17:43

Is he taking any medication?
Asthma drug Montelukast / singlulair can cause mental health issues including tourettes like behaviour.

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 22/04/2020 17:51

I don't want to be that person @GettingFatterByTheDay, but I could not read your posts and not tell you my experience.

My dad showed these signs. Lack of filter, temperament change, swearing all completely out of character for a complete gentleman. He had multiple brain tumours.

No one can diagnose your DH over the Internet, but please just get him checked ASAP.

VenusTiger · 22/04/2020 17:53

We're all very different under stress, alcohol, hunger, tiredness. Maybe isolation is really taking it's toll. We're not all the same you know, but he needs telling - suggest he go for a walk or something.

anditgoeson · 22/04/2020 17:58

I'd have that looked into. Not the same but when I am stressed I stutter really badly. I cant even get words put sometimes. Shouting out could be stress related.

Frankola · 22/04/2020 18:11

Could this be stress related tourette's? I would recommend a GP appointment

Agree, @Winterwoollies - there's something not right, though I'm not sure what.

HollowTalk · 22/04/2020 20:32

Yes, I noticed that, too.

FloreanFortescue · 22/04/2020 22:08

@Winterwoollies good spot

myboysmum · 23/04/2020 00:02

I saw a programme last week about a woman who developed tourette's as an adult. It was called The mum who got tourette's and is on again next Monday on Ch4. Might be worth a watch as it sounds very much like your husband

Does your DH use a Vape? Have seen this in people who are vaping too much with liquid to strong. Worth checking but if not would advise GP’s visit/advice.

JustStayHome · 23/04/2020 21:55

Hope you are ok OP

madcatladyforever · 23/04/2020 21:58

I would be seriously concerned,, it is not mormal. This can happen with frontal lobe dementia, or massive stress. Get it checked out.

RiskyRetail · 23/04/2020 22:24

You need to get him to a gp ASAP

HeIsAVeryBadBoy · 24/04/2020 16:53

Any news OP?

FloydWasACat · 24/04/2020 18:30

B12 deficiency?

Wanderlust21 · 24/04/2020 18:35

That sounds pretty serious op. Stress does odd things but not that... get him to a gp fast.

Sexnotgender · 24/04/2020 18:38

I hope you can persuade him to see a doctor, he really needs one ASAP. Don’t let him refuse to discuss it.

Nottherealslimshady · 24/04/2020 18:46

Oh jeez, I'd definitely say this warrants a doctors visit

Namechangex10000 · 25/04/2020 17:14

I really hope everything’s ok op xxx

Winterwoollies · 25/04/2020 18:59

The OP hasn’t posted for quite a few days now. Hopefully everything is ok...

Mummyshark2019 · 25/04/2020 19:04

What's the update OP? Hope all is ok

jess3817 · 26/04/2020 09:55

How is your husband now, op? Hope you're ok

Jellybean27 · 26/04/2020 10:02
