Over 2 months and no period

Hey, First time poster! I am after some advice.. My husband and I have been TTC for around 7 months. We have a 3.5 year old (I conceived within the first month with her). I am 2 months 3 days late on my period but still getting negatives on tests. I am always regular and have a 28 day cycle. What I am trying to ask is has this happened to anyone before and they have got a positive? Also called drs but they are reluctant to see anyone at the minute so they said leave it a few weeks to get blood test.

I barely produced enough HCG to get a positive reading and I was pregnant with twins, is it possible this is the case?

Alternatively if you went back onto birth control after first DC could it be your body getting itself back to a regular cycle?
