Ages and ages ago I remember someone asked about a wedding dress they wanted and someone found it. So I thought I'd ask
My sons who has asd has this blanket from asda that he loves to sleep in wrap himself up suck on it etc he takes it everywhere with him. As you can imagine it can get quite dirty and when I wash it he just stands near the washing machine crying I don't even bother trying to dry it as he gets so upset without it. I've brought lots of different blankets as spares but he wont even go near them. Anyone help find me find a spare? Thanks

Hi OP I have private inboxed you .

differentnameforthis · 22/04/2020 10:46

It worked with my child.

"When you've met one child with autism..." and all that...

besides, op said he was getting distressed with her taking photos of it, and cries when it's in the machine.

Of course it doesn’t mean that. It may work. It’s just a suggestion. It worked with mine.

Thank you everyone. My son loves to cover himself with it so cutting it in half wont work but thanks ,
I've attached a better photo ( I hope)

I have no idea why parents encourage these dependencies! An unkind and unhelpful comment, parents of children with ASD often have no choice in the matter so it is not as simple as telling them to "be more careful next time"

Lovely photo.

Have you tried getting in touch with Asda directly OP?

I’ve seen several instances where they’ve helped source favourite items for children with ASD.

Might be worth an email to them.

Curoi · 22/04/2020 12:24

I've asked my sister to help and she's emailed asda. She's become a women on a mission lol.

@daisypond

Yes, you already said it worked for yours, however, just reading OP's post would have told that it probably wouldn't work for her.

I did read the OP’s post. You are being very judgemental and unpleasant. Perhaps you could come up with something helpful, instead of being an arse.

Fingers crossed!

@Curoi there is a page on Facebook called Little Blue Cup who search for items just like this nationally for those that need them.

Might be worth asking them to help you ...
