To be worried about c section recovery?

I had a c section 7 weeks ago, I had an infection 2 weeks after and this finally cleared up around end of week 5 and the wound has healed fine now

However above the wound my stomach is still tender in parts, sort of like bruising pain. I also sometimes feel like a pulling sensation, as if stitches internally were being pulled, but that’s very rare and on the opposite side to the stomach tenderness

The rational side of me says it is because it’s major surgery but the paranoid side of me is a bit worried because I had an infection. Is this normal, has anyone else experience this?

I had a similar feeling after my first c-section at around the 8 week mark, I ended up having a scan to check everything was okay and it was. It sort of felt like a pulling internally but only on one side for me. It went within another few months. As you have had an infection though it's worth getting it checked.

Mine hurt for several months, both times. My first actually hurt for almost a year with a pulling sensation on my right side if I walked up a steep hill - I assume it was just the way the scar tissue had formed, I'm fine now 1 year after my second.
Always worth calling and checking though if you're concerned.

That’s really normal, mine felt like that too and I didn’t have an infection. It’s also still slightly numb 18 months later.

The pulling you mention sounds normal, I still get it from time to time (17 months on). Keep an eye on it all though but be aware it does take time to feel normal again.

Sounds normal. 16 months on I still get aches there if I do too much and it's still a bit numb in places.

It sounds similar to what I had. Consultant told me to remember it is massive internal operation, going through layers and moving around organs - as well as normal post birth recovery. Any other operation of that level would be at least a few months rest and recovery. It takes months to fully repair. Some will feel ok after a few week, others will take months. I’m only just feeling more normal now after 7 months. It’s been a tough recovery. It’s worth getting checked out if worried. I had internal infection and was on antibiotics for 5 weeks - the midwife id originally asked told me it was nothing and will just be bruising. Trust your instinct though
