To take them back... Advice needed

No, not a cheating partner, but a pair of boots I got last year (zzzzz boring I know!)

Last year I saved up and bought myself a lovely pair of boots for the winter. More than I would ever usually pay, but on a gin head, it seemed like a great idea.

I'm usually a size 5, but felt the 5.5 were bit better fitting. Anyway, got home and wore them out the following night and they were soooo tight. I don't know if perhaps my feet were cold and fitted better whilst in the shop, but I am crippled by them.

When I looked at the size, they're a size 5!!! There's obviously been a mix up and the lovely sales assistant has put the wrong ones through and I've stupidly not noticed.
I wore them to a friend's house and there really isn't a scuff on them. The stickers are off the bottom of the shoes, but still have the bag, box and dust bags.

I've never been one to take something back especially 6 months later, but do I chance my luck??? Will they even believe me!?!

The website are still selling them and will sell them as I believe its one of their classic styles.

What would you do?

You posted in AIBU, and YABU, so yes, you are going to hear that from me when you are attempting to take back worn items from well over half a year ago.

Hopefully not, for the workers sakes. I can just ebay them if they do. Going to chance my luck and see. I can only ask. Don't think that makes me unreasonable.

Well the fact you wore them out at least twice with the stickers still on is in itself highly unreasonable.

Don't take them back, the box may have a bat code so they will know when you bought them. Try stretching them. Good shoes are an investment, so I hope you get to enjoy them.
At the other end of the market Shoe Zone are doing 2 for 1 on everything at the moment end they now sell branded stuff like Clarks and Sketchers, so may be worth a look!
