I will never quite forgive my next door neighbour for buying a drum kit and set of bongos for her 8 and 6 year old boys this week.
They had a 7.30 start this morning. Have been on the sauvignon blanc since about 2.00.

I am so so sorry for you.

mbosnz · 19/04/2020 18:00

You are not being unreasonable. Demi Roussos on high volume to return fire? And of course, more sauvignon blanc. . .

TheThingWithFeathers · 19/04/2020 18:00

Why would anyone do such a thing?!

PaulinePetrovaPosey · 19/04/2020 18:04

Christ that's awful. I'm surprised you waited till 2pm.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 19/04/2020 18:05

Oh that's just evil. I'd let them all settle down for the night and then start playing Death Metal at top volume with all the windows open.

LakieLady · 19/04/2020 18:07

Go and light a bonfire. That'll learn them. Wink

Thighmageddon · 19/04/2020 18:07

What the hell were they thinking?

There's going to be more of this batshittery to come the longer this lockdown goes on isn't there Grin

Nekoness · 19/04/2020 18:08

I’d buy ear defenders on amazon and tomorrow, blast Baby Shark. You will happily turn it off for a case of Sauvignon

Shitsgettingcrazy · 19/04/2020 18:08

Ah that's shit.

My mum loves kids having noisy toys. I told her if she ever buys anything like thay for my kids, it's a toy that stays at nanas.

I couldnt inflict that on my neighbours or deal with their, fair, complaints.

Saladaysior · 19/04/2020 18:11

That’s fucking unbelievable in the circumstances. I mean even in normal times why the hell wouldn’t you buy an electronic kit if you’re serious about drumming and need to practise at home.
But it sounds, given the kids are only 6 and 8, that she’s just bought them to keep them occupied and couldn’t give a shit about who else has to listen to their racket.
Seriously, I think the mental health of a lot of people must be suffering being trapped next to selfish bastards like this

Nekoness · 19/04/2020 18:12

Oh and I hate to tell you but Ks2 (so her 8 year old) will be studying “sound” in the science topic for the term. Probably why they bought them.

LolaSmiles · 19/04/2020 18:16

Buying bongos - fine

Buying bongos and letting the kids make a racket from the early hours - totally unreasonable and a shootable offence.

Bluetrews25 · 19/04/2020 18:33

Can you request a drumming hour daily? Not to be used outside that time, and you have 50% say in when it happens. Must be pre-agreed.
Surely the parent will get pissed off with it?
OR start drumming with them (saucepan and wooden spoons?), I hear it's therapeutic.... Confused

Outtedagain · 19/04/2020 19:19

Pavarotti is perfect with bongo’s and drums.
He drowns the shit racket out.
