To ask if you're all going to have your cleaners back? And have you been paying them?

I'm a self employed cleaner who's obviously lost all of my jobs for now. I was just thinking, what if all my former clients have started cleaning themselves and finding it's not too bad so don't want me back? Also have you been paying your cleaner? Kept in touch with them? Do you expect them to come back?

I've got new temporary work for now and I'm definitely not going back to few who I was thinking of sacking anyway, and I've not heard anything from them.

Also, when do you think we'll be allowed back? At what point will you have your cleaner back?

We are still paying our cleaner but only half the normally monthly amount. This was suggested by her and she said she will do a few extra cleans when she's able to start up again.

We will definitely be having her back, I miss her!

gower4 · 19/04/2020 17:41

Yes and yes

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/04/2020 17:41

Paying her, having her back, talking to her daily.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 19/04/2020 17:42

Not quite what you asked, but have never had a cleaner but am resolved to get one once this is all over!

listsandbudgets · 19/04/2020 17:42

I've told mine I will pay her 8 weeks full pay then 50% for as long as I can after that.. I'm actually hoping to manage 10 weeks full but havent said that to her at the moment

and I can not wait to see her back. Shes promised a full deep clean on her return which she wont charge for.

HeyMicky · 19/04/2020 17:42

I'm paying mine and damn straight I'm having her back

Muchtoomuchtodo · 19/04/2020 17:42

Yes, I can’t wait to have ours back.

I love coming home to everything being clean all at the same time!

I offered to pay her during this. She refused as she said her others clients weren’t. I’ve set up a standing order to pay her 50% of what we usually pay. She’s not happy - she says it’s not fair as I’m the only one but it’s tough!

Growingboys · 19/04/2020 17:45

I paid mine in full for the first three weeks but have just dropped down to half wages as we've had pay cuts and need to cut our expenses.

I had only had her two months before this so hope she can come back sooner or later as I don't fancy paying her for longer than I've had her. Hoping maybe three more weeks then possibly she can come back? Who knows.

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 19/04/2020 17:47

Yes and yes. But we have kept our incomes too.

BlueJava · 19/04/2020 17:48

I used a cleaning company and I haven't been paying them. I'm in 2 minds as to whether I will re-engage them. May be not, especially if I can work from home more as I can use the time I would be commuting to clean!

icelollies · 19/04/2020 17:48

Yes, cant wait to have her back! We have been paying her still too, in the hope that she doesn’t prefer her non-cleaning lifestyle

dancinginpurplerain · 19/04/2020 17:48

Still paying here by bank transfer and can't wait for my cleaner to come back! I don't think it will happen for a while through. 3 kids and 2 adults working from home - if we're all still here, don't think the cleaner could easily work around us. She also has a partner who is shielding so might not want to be in the house with us either:

GigiLamour · 19/04/2020 17:49

Yes and yes.

She's been coming for years and is really nice as well as being a good cleaner.

Can't WAIT to have her back. I can clean but it takes forever and I hate it.

idril · 19/04/2020 17:49

Hoping to not have mine back because she's rubbish. Been wanting to replace her for ages but I'm a wimp and not sure if another would be just as bad. Cleaning my own house has made me realise she is more rubbish than I thought.

Paying her 80% till end of June either way.

Dylaninthemovies1 · 19/04/2020 17:50

I’m continuing to pay my cleaner (standing order monthly). Can’t wait for them to start back

Igmum · 19/04/2020 17:52

Yes and yes

MrsJamieFraser22 · 19/04/2020 17:53

We don’t have a cleaner but have a gardener who is still working- I didn’t think there was any issue with this, we just stay in the house whilst he is here, would have thought you could do the same with a window cleaner

Ethelfleda · 19/04/2020 17:53

I’m paying our cleaner and absolutely will have her back when it is safe to do so.

OFFREDOFFSTUART · 19/04/2020 17:53

I am paying my cleaner, because I am still being paid. Anything else would be morally abhorrent.

My cleaner comes back as soon as I am back at work and DD back at school. I can think of better things to do in my spare time than cleaning.

I pay her the usual fees, so far we agreed to do it until end of April but I am sure I will continue until the lockdown ends. I am still fully employed, get my full salary so can afford it.

Daffodil101 · 19/04/2020 17:56

Mine won’t let me pay her. I’ll be paying her a massive ‘return to work’ bonus

Popuppippa · 19/04/2020 17:56

Paying her in full and keeping in touch by Whatsapp. I love her to bits, she makes my life SO much easier and will be delighted when she's ready to come back to work. Prior to lockdown, we had an agreement that if anyone in either household was unwell, we would let each other know (but we would still pay her). That will still stand when the restrictions lift.

JojoLapin · 19/04/2020 17:56

Yes and yes, full pay.

Dalamalama · 19/04/2020 17:57

I think you are all lovely who are still paying your cleaner and clever, how can they refuse to come back when you've been so good!

I don't think I could accept money though as I'm not cleaning for it and it doesn't put me in an awkward position to sack the crappy clients at the end of all this.

I'm now thinking I'm going to do my new job for three days and clean for some of my former (favourite) clients for two days.
