I am a prolific name changer, some 'suit me' and when I reply to people I feel like it's me, sometimes the name change turns me into a real bitch and I reply more harshly.

Is it only me that is crazy like this or does your username influence your replies?

Just me then

No, I'm me. Some names I settle with for longer. Some don't quite click and they get changed sooner.

It's more an OP's tone that will change my stance, but I'm still generally me although if an OP is quite beligerent, I might be more direct in my tone. I've never been deleted by MNHQ though Grin I tend to swerve total bunfights.

Love topical names Smile

Interesting to say some names dont click, a random name shouldn't affect you but I agree it does.

No, I name change every week or so, and tend to just choose an object or combination of more than one object, in my immediate vicinity. Now that we’re on lockdown rurally and are on the beach or cliffs a lot, I note there are more plant/bird/shell names than when I was chained to my desk, when names seemed to involve book titles, but no, I can’t say I’m murderous under some names and peaceable with others.

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 20/04/2020 23:16

Ribwort that's interesting, I hadn't thought about how life stress could reflect In name change.

I can't say that a name affects my replies, but I have changed a couple of times to find a good fit. Mine at the moment is a good representation of my character grumpy, people hating, bad tempered little witch

I also have one I find amusing when I want to post covertly and not be outed

rosiejaune · 21/04/2020 01:12

My name changes are mostly to avoid identification. This is my main one, but the others I might reveal more personal details in them, so they might be related to the situation I'm posting about.

So they don't causally influence my manner, i.e. it's not because of the username, it's the other way round; I've changed both my username and posting style because of the post content.

Bouledeneige · 21/04/2020 01:21

I've only changed my name three times. My first name was a quite mumsy one, the second a randomish literary reference, this one was influenced by the weather. I think people are less nice to me now because they wrongly think I'm french. I am not. But that might be my paranoiea/assumption of prejudice. None of the names reflected my personality very well but I think people were nicer to me when I was mumsyish. I can't think of a name that would sum me up as I am quite a mixture of things. So I've never really given it much thought.

My username represents 2 of my menopausal traits

steff13 · 21/04/2020 03:32

I've only ever used this username. I try to be nice, occasionally I have a bad day and I'm less nice. I'm always me. 🤷

RainbowGlittersandSparkles · 21/04/2020 07:07

I only reply if I’ve something positive to add to a thread. There’s too much anger on here if you voice a negative opinion!! But I like to be 💯 anon so I name change a lot.
