They had a birthday party the other night, 12ft garden/patio several people out there they put up flashing lights and all had a jolly good singsong on their karaoke machine well into the night. Butchered Adele No shame at all. I'm not sure what pissed me off the most, the selfishness or the noise.

It was a Friday night during official Easter holidays. Probably should have given you neighbourly notice though.

neverknewsomany · 18/04/2020 20:21

Erghh there's a pandemic no notice is needed when people shouldn't be gathering in the first place!

Concerned12345 · 18/04/2020 20:21

Obviously out of order if not just their household

Sunshine1239 · 18/04/2020 20:22

Honestly you need to stay off Mumsnet and just look after yourself

Far too many on here policing others

MrsKingfisher · 18/04/2020 20:23

Not just their household no, it wasn't a Friday either though I'm not sure what difference the day makes when we aren't meant to be mixing households!

If there were clearly more people there than live there why didnt you report the gathering.
Under non lockdown time I wouldn't be overly bothered by a neighbour having an outdoor singalong occasionally on a Friday night.

bettybattenburg · 18/04/2020 20:25

If they were all people living in the same house then YABU. It would have been kind of them to let you know though and not play music by Adele

MrsKingfisher · 18/04/2020 20:35

I think what grates is that we are all missing out on something, special occasions, family gatherings etc but most of us manage to just get on with it. They just stuck their fingers up to all of us and had a party a loud and very open air party they weren't even discreet! They are a family of 3 so not all the same house,

And they sang to Adele and completely ruined someone like you amongst other goodies!

Who the hell thinks karaoke is acceptable unless they live in the middle of no where?! It’s obviously extremely selfish on the neighbours / lockdown or no lockdown!

GabsAlot · 18/04/2020 20:47

why didnt you report it
