Into the caravan on the driveway.

It’s flippin gone 9pm and he wants to faff about with bedding, toilet solution, waste tank, water etc, at this time of night!

If he’d said earlier then I’d have been up for it, but me and daughters have sunk 3 bottles of fizz, and had a dance party, really can’t sort the caravan now.

I said we’ll do it tomorrow night but now he’s in a strop and said we’ll leave it til next weekend.

AIBU to not want to faff with the caravan right now?

Sounds great. But make sure he sort everything, so you can enjoy the holiday.

macaroniandpizza · 17/04/2020 22:06

That sounds like a great break and not too far to travel 😂 im thinking of buying a tent for ds and setting it up in the garden. Need to be a big tent in case the dogs wanted to join our "holiday" its not florida but it will have to do haha

PyongyangKipperbang · 17/04/2020 22:07

I think its a great idea! But I am a bit.....cheerful so I may not be the best judge of anything right now!

Gingerkittykat · 17/04/2020 22:11

Why on earth would a grown man want to set up a chemical toilet in a caravan when there is a proper flush toilet indoors.

CurlsandCurves · 17/04/2020 22:23

My neighbours have done this. Prior to lockdown they’d got the motor home all set up, water, gas, etc.

So they’ve had a few nights in there, on the driveway to ‘get the experience ‘ 😆

Good on em I say.

Crimsonnightlotus · 17/04/2020 22:23

Ginger, you really need to get into the feel. Meaning you need to forget that you are in the driveway. That;s the whole point of having a holiday. Away from home.

TatianaBis · 17/04/2020 22:26

A pished caravan holiday is the best kind no?

TKAAHUARTG · 17/04/2020 22:27

I would probably go!

Kahlua4me · 17/04/2020 22:27

I am hoping to pitch our tent in the garden and sleep out there soon, just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit more over night.

CoffeeIsMyOnlyJoy · 17/04/2020 22:29

Under no circumstances is this a holiday. What a disapointing thread

CoffeeIsMyOnlyJoy · 17/04/2020 22:29

Disappointing. Bloody wine.

PyongyangKipperbang · 17/04/2020 22:34

Oh fucking joy killers!!!!

Its a laugh. Its something different. Its keeping the silliness going. What the hell is wrong with that?!

Lalala89 · 17/04/2020 22:49

Sometimes the best memories with children are the random, out of the blue ones done as last minute. If you have no where else to be tomorrow why not have a late adventure with the kids?

tinkywinkyshandbag · 18/04/2020 09:22

I wish we had a caravan in the drive. Somewhere near me is restoring a vintage 1960s caravan and I am well jell.

Undercoverworker06 · 18/04/2020 10:18

When my girls were small we had a sleep out in the shed, with one of their friends and the dogs. It was fab, so we did it again!

OMG so am I!!!

Lynda07 · 18/04/2020 19:06

That's hilarious! Wait until tomorrow by which time he may have changed his mind. Does sound like fun though.

Desmondo2016 · 18/04/2020 19:09

You've got girls old enough to drink fizz with and he wants to go camping on the driveway? Mega confused why anyone would do that if it wasn't for the benefit of children?

Racheyg · 18/04/2020 19:13

Op, are you my parents??? They love their caravan and this is the sort of thing they wound do after a few. I must admit their caravan is very comfy and warm

TatianaBis · 18/04/2020 19:13

I want a property gipsy caravan. I saw a real one for sale - 1850 - I so wanted it. I could be Kizzy.

Racheyg · 18/04/2020 19:15

Saying that we set up a tent in the garden for the kids to play in today. They have spent all day out there it's been great.

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 18/04/2020 19:41

Oh bless him!!!

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 18/04/2020 19:42

I've seen people on FB do this, it looks great fun!
Seriously, MN is a bed of miserable twats lately lol.
Yeah, I get if you've had a few you can't be arsed with sorting out the bedding so should have mentioned it earlier to you, but sounds like a great idea to me!
Just jealous of people with a) driveways and b) motorhomes right now Grin
Talk to him? Say you'd love to but you're a little tired pissed and can't be faffed setting it up now but will tomorrow?
Or get him to set it up for you so you don't have to if that's the real reason you don't want to.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 18/04/2020 19:42

I get that this is a fun, daft idea, to pass the time and cheer things up a bit, but I get the impression that @Twospaniels is expected to do most of the actual sorting out that will be necessary - which makes it less of a ‘holiday’ for her.

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 18/04/2020 19:44

Er..... because it's a bit of fun? Something a bit different in a time we can't go anywhere? Not everyone has to act grown up all the time you know.

Martin is that you? Shit on it!!
