What would you do about nasal polyps?

I have realised I have a Nasal Polyp in my nose ( I can see it and i have had all the symptoms for months ) I had the flu and a terrible chest infection in January and i assumed the blocked nose/ loss of smell was just a back lash of being so poorly. My GP had took a sample of my phlegm and rang to say I had the flu

I know the NHS is strained at the minute so should i just wait until all of this is over to ring my GP about the polyp or should I ring now?

DD had a possible nasal polyp.

The first treatment was a steroid nasal spray for 2 weeks as this can shrink them. You might be able to get a prescription for a nasal spray by having a phone appointment with your GP.

However, I think steroids can reduce the efficiency of your immune system. At the present time, seeing as you've already put up with it a while, you might want to wait until things are a bit safer.

I had this last year. The GP recommended a spray for 4-6 weeks - i think it was Beconase or something. I don;t have any other medical conditions - but this was all done over the phone. He said if it didn't improve to then make an appt. The spray took a good 3-4 weeks to work but it got rid of it and i haven;t had a problem since.
