Did we all "worry about nothing" before Corona?

Just that really .Obviously we all had various concerns before the Virus ,but has that put them in perspective do you think? When we return to "normal" will we be worrying about petty things again ,or will this change our mindset I wonder.(I dont mean big things) ,but just little worries like DC had squabble at School ,or we cant get our favourite biscuits and so on?

Surely that depends on what you were worrying about before. If you have terminal cancer, you might think people worrying about Corona are worrying about nothing?

cooliebrown · 17/04/2020 08:59

I remain seriously anxious about climate change and Brexit

Pelleas · 17/04/2020 09:02

I can't claim that it has stopped me worrying about trivial things. I will sometimes interrupt myself mid-worry with thoughts along the lines of 'this won't matter if you die of Corona' but all the trivial things I worried about before are still there.

OuterMongolia · 17/04/2020 09:05

Yes, we'll still worry about small things (maybe not the favourite biscuit example in your OP!). Something like this doesn't change human nature.

This.

Judging by posts on here, ppl are finding new things to worry about, most ridiculous.
Very inward looking and selfish, sadly lots of pp backing them up in their pettiness.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/04/2020 09:17

The big things will still exist (climate change, Brexit, cancer, terrorism). However you clearly say you don't mean the big things - I'll assume some posters upthread didn't fully read your post.

I would hope the small worries seem sillier now - parking woes, dickhead colleagues, rude neighbours, your kid not getting the lead in a play.

But then that's MN bread and butter for threads so this place would become less entertaining.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 17/04/2020 10:06

I am more than a little concerned about the economy and I am aghast at the people who think everything will be fine - if you are one of those people, did you vote for Brexit by any chance Grin?

iklboo · 17/04/2020 10:19

Has anyone read the OP? The bit where she's specifically said 'not the big things'
