Great video near St.Thomas' Hospital. Lots of the public and police all gathered together clapping.

And for some reason, London has a lot more cases than elsewhere in the country.

Clapping is great. But I wonder how many people will catch it from others at this gathering?

I don't really know what I'm clapping at when Thursday rolls around. Do I clap in the direction of the local hospital?

All jokes aside, really do have lots of respect for the NHS workers!

Not sure what you mean.

We are cross that the whole idea of social distancing and the police enforcing rules goes out the window at 8pm on a Thursday because people are patting their ungloved hands together and cheering with their unmasked faces.

Its hypocrisy that is being slagged off, not Lockdown or England.

I think the police were doing it for positive publicity, they’ve had a lot of negative publicity recently so it probably looked like a good idea. Then it attracted the public (who thought oh the police are doing it, obv this is ok) and then the police, worried about negative publicity if they stopped the public clapping, just ignored it. I think it was wrong and tone deaf because they wouldn’t have got as much negative publicity stopping the clapping as they did ignoring it. I haven’t heard or seen a response from them though.
