To ask you to please stop with the fireworks

I know the NHS staff are risking their lives and working their arses off and clap and bang pan lids or whatever but please don’t set off fireworks for them. They terrify a lot of animals. It’s daylight still, so they can’t be even be seen well. It’s also been very dry weather for a while and the last thing we need at the moment are random accidental fires.

Agree. Completely pointless and potentially dangerous.

recrudescence · 16/04/2020 20:29

Yes, dog frightened again. If you are doing this, please go and fuck yourself.

BanKittenHeels · 16/04/2020 20:30

YANBU my dog is now shaking and hiring under a blanket.

BanKittenHeels · 16/04/2020 20:31

And someone on Facebook said it’s because we “baby” our dogs. Suuuuuure.

Remembered to call my cat in early this week so we could play with her feather collection and distract her from the noise, poor little thing

gingganggooleywotsit · 16/04/2020 20:44

I have a dog and there's only been literally one or two quick fireworks. He had a quick bark and has forgotten about it. maybe in some areas people are letting off more though I don't know. I think in these strange times people are just trying to ease the monotony.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 16/04/2020 20:45

I would like my neighbours to stop banging saucepans/playing loud music. Woke poor little DD up again this week at 8pm and she then cried for half an hour before we could get her off again :(

cologne4711 · 17/04/2020 12:26

The stupid people who live almost directly behind me (about 3 doors down) let off fireworks last night, they were so loud and made me jump, so I feel for animals and small children who don't understand what the big bang is. Complete idiots. And they did it at about 8.45, so way after the clapping.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 17/04/2020 12:40

No because apparently it's their right to do so...and people let off fireworks on fireworks night so why is this any different. How dare people be so boring and they're entitled to show appreciation however they want.. blah blah.

Theres also a fake NHS poster posted which is asking people not to set off fireworksEven though it's fake the message still stands though...but nope it's their right.

And this stemmed from someone on the local page asking to not do so because it wakes their baby up. Apparently they're in the wrong...somehow!

ATowelAndAPotato · 17/04/2020 13:14

Where are people even buying fireworks from right now? Idiots.
