to expect the school to show some concern about a wasps nest outside their front gate

Just got home from dropping my ds at school. He is in reception so I want his first experiences to be positive.
Yesterday my friend noticed a wasps nest within sight of the school gates and next to a footpath. she told the school caretaker who replied it wasn't anything to do with him and told her to phone the council. Today I went that way forgetting about the nest and my ds was stung. I went into the school told the headteacher and was given the same response as my friend.
The school logo is 'We care' am I right in being pissed off at the schools seeming lack of care?
Whole thing made me cry at letting ds down so maybe I am just projecting my anger that I feel at myself.
