Bee noises

We’ve just had an enormous bumblebee fly into the house buzzing furiously.

DH opened the window wider to shoo it out but he accidentally trapped it within the folds of the net curtain (not injured it, just accidentally folded up the curtain in such a way that the bee was unable to fly out until he adjusted it) and it made the weirdest noise I have ever heard from a bee!
Like a pained high pitched squeak!

I thought they just buzzed menacingly!

Maybe it was a callsign for help or a warning. Did it manage to fly away safely.

Yes I said DH poor thing must be utterly panicked.
And yes bee flew away absolutely fine 😊

Never heard anything like it before.
We always get large numbers of bumblebees in our garden, they nest at the back every year

I’ve heard the higher pitched buzzing sound- but it was still a buzz.

I've heard that one before - curtain folds and also when catching them with card and a cup.
