No

Therollockingrogue · 16/04/2020 07:37

No

Pinkyponker · 16/04/2020 07:37

I don't know. For me it would depend on how this pans out over the next month.
We don't know if cases will drop or stay the same really do we

Queenfreak · 16/04/2020 07:39

For me it's a no, but then I dont depend on school to enable me to work. Some people just won't have a choice

THATscurryfungeBITCH · 16/04/2020 07:39

In either case pinky i do feel it is too soon, it seems rushed.

No

JoyceByersWasRight · 16/04/2020 07:41

Yes.

HuloBeraal · 16/04/2020 07:41

No. But I have one vulnerable child. So no.

Chrisinthemorning · 16/04/2020 07:44

No, but I would consider sending him back after half term which for us would mean him going back on 8th June for 5 weeks.
I think they are trying to artificially get a second peak in the summer rather than Autumn, when the NHS can cope a little better.
None of us would be going anywhere near grandparents though, so I will stay off work to do before and after school care.

Sceptre86 · 16/04/2020 07:44

No mine is a toddler and they don't do anything there that I can't teach her at home myself.

Chocolatecakefan · 16/04/2020 07:46

That's so dependent on the situation though isn't it?

My child goes to a small village school with about 200 pupils. I have absolutely no problem with that. However, a primary school in a large city with 500+ pupils or a secondary school with thousands of pupils? Entirely different considerations.

I personally don't think the issue is with being in school. I think the issue is drop off/pick up and parents standing in the playgrounds. That's how the virus would spread in my view.

EasyPleasey · 16/04/2020 07:46

Yes, need to get back to normality.

TheGirlFromStoryville · 16/04/2020 07:47

Absolutely not. Far too soon imo.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/04/2020 07:50

Yes. Because I'm a single parent and I have been unable to work while DS is at home. I can't carry on like this for much longer.

Lovelydovey · 16/04/2020 07:50

Yes

Waxonwaxoff0 · 16/04/2020 07:51

Saying that I would prefer it to be after May half term, I can manage until then but probably no later than that.

myself2020 · 16/04/2020 07:52

Definitely- ours is a small school with plenty of space (16 per class, big rooms, loads of outdoor space). nobody in our family is vulnerable plus i’m fairly sure we all had it already.
teacher and TAs are generally young as well.

myself2020 · 16/04/2020 07:53

plus my oldest really suffers without school

TiredofSM · 16/04/2020 07:53

I’m a SAHP and I think I would.
Mostly because DD is desperate to go back, see her friends, her teachers and get her routine back. She misses school lunches!
But also partly because I don’t want to have to manage the absence Police if I decided to keep her off. Surely if schools go back and I withhold her from attending, the usual consequences would apply - fines etc.

Pascha · 16/04/2020 07:54

Heart says fuck yes!

Head says no way.

My children are missing the social aspect of school life and I am no teacher, honestly we're floundering a bit on the homeschool front. Also we are all just a bit sick of each other and tempers are flaring.

But I don't honestly feel comfortable sending my asthmatic son into a germy school environment and I don't think it's fair on the teachers to have to deal with a whole school of grotty children.

So I haven't voted, sorry.

Selfsettling3 · 16/04/2020 07:54

DH is in the shielding group so it’s probably not a wise move for us.

Sirzy · 16/04/2020 07:57

No. Ds is on the shielding list anyway so won’t be going anywhere until early June

Sohardtochooseausername · 16/04/2020 07:57

No. Both DD’s dad and I are vulnerable.

The virus will still be out there on May 11th. I want to wait till after the summer.
