Genuinely can't believe that they haven't cancelled this. It's costing billions and they've given it the green light again today, despite everything.

Thank you for campaigning against it littleeasterbonnet. I cant believe it was given the go ahead. They are destroying all those important habitats. It's devastating to see the destruction especially at this time of year.

It's been ridiculous all along. The money should have been spent on tech not physical infrastructure. We should be focusing on removing the need to travel for all sorts of reasons.

And judging by the huge number of people who are currently working from home, it is possible to achieve that.

I've always thought it absurd that a hundred thousand people can commute from City A to City B to work, and on the way there and back they pass all the people in City B going in the opposite direction, because they work in City A. Either move, or change jobs for goodness sake!

What about the thousands of people paid to work on it? / are working on it.

But no, it will mean a less vacant view from your back gardens.

It would be cheaper to demolish Birmingham and rebuild it closer to London.

terkwoys · 16/04/2020 21:27

@1555CC Grin

All those thousands of people working on it? All those thousands of consultants and corporate lawyers and accountants and executives who have been sitting round boardroom tables and raking in the lolly, you mean?
