This came through my letterbox the other day and I can't help but feel quite terrified. How much do you reckon the crime rate will increase due to the virus and have you heard of anyone being a victim of this to the incident bellow. In the past few weeks I've heard of multiple people having similar experiences to the old man in this past few weeks and knowing him personally he says he's scared to go out anywhere or even accept a phone call in case someone tries hack into his phone or find out his card details.

not that particular crime but I do think crime has increased but I don't have any stats but back that up. My dad who is disAbled and a wheelchair users had his bungalow broken into the other night , first time it's ever happened to him, and he has lived there for years they took his phones . Heard about a lot of break ins.

Omg how awful? Was he on his own completely? Is he still going to continuing staying there? So much more difficult since he's probably high risk.

I mean that's awful but surely can't be that unusual? Do you live somewhere very quiet where no crime happens?

I live in SE London and feels like crime has decreased massively since the lock down.

I think things like shopliftings are down because there’s few shops open to steal from but we’ve had two cars stolen from our street overnight in the last fortnight so there are still criminals out there. And I read that domestic abuse has increased.
